Summary
At Summit Specialists of Pain we focus on the complete patient and the acute and chronic treatment of pain. Our specialty is Spinal Pain.
First a comprehensive evaluation of each patient is completed including a complete muskuloskeletal evaluation to identify or localize the source of pain.
Next, through the use of diagnostic and therapeutic injections and medical management of the pain the source or appropriate treatment program is accessed.
We try to treat the patient as a person and not a pathology. Pain can often cause severe problems emotionally and insomnia. These are evaluated and treated appropriately.
We begin with a conservative approach with diagnostic and therapeutic injections. If conservative injections and medical management does not alleviate the pain appropriately, Dr. Whisenant has advanced skills in the use of radiofrequency neurotomy, spinal cord stimulation, diagnostic discography, Intradiscal thermocoagulation or enucleation, and Botox injections.
