Dr. Stephane Antoine Conte, MD

Dr. Conte is one of the best physicians that's been at the Bronx DOCS office in years. He sees so many patients every day but always remembers you. He's younger than many of thr doctors who've been there in the past, and i think it makes a difference. He has a very friendly, relaxed demeanor and takes the time to listen to what you have to say. He also shows so much empathy - when you're not feeling well, he genuinely seems to feel bad that you feel bad. He goes through his exam somewhat quickly, but he is always thorough. I think he doesn't want anyone to have to be there any longer then they have to, and given the number of walk-in appointments, you sometimes spend a while waiting to get in to see him. But once you're being seen by him, you feel like you're being well taken care of. I'm glad Dr. Conte is at Bronx DOCS and I'd recommend him to anyone.

I'm appalled at the treatment I received from doctor. As soon as Doctor Stephane Conte walked out into the main waiting area, he yells out my name. He mutters his name and asked me to follow him. He proceeded to bark orders- have a seat, take of your jacket, raise your sleeve. No please no thank you not so much as eye contact. He rudely asked what are you here for? After explaining it's for a physical he then states a physical for what? There was an assistant in his office while being examined and not once did he introduce her nor did he mentioned the purpose of her presence until I asked "I'm sorry, you're the nurse?". He didnt allow the assistance to speak he again just muttered the reason for her company. The nurse at the location asked what's my height and weight? How about if I jump on the scale and we figure out if I've grown or gained weight ? Doctor Conte then attempted to draw blood but was not able to, he then said I wont poke you again, here's a prescription to have your… blood drawn elsewhere. I asked if I should set up an appointment up front or just call - his response? I cant speak for other people's schedule? What? Just plain rude. I will never go back and I will not ever recommend this Doctor- I've never been treated with such disrespect. BTW, Stephane Conte is a he- his name is pronounced Stephan. Stay away - the clinic itself seems ok...not Dr. Conte. The receptionist was awesome-great guy, helpful and the most respectful individual.

I thought Dr. Conte was great! He explains things very well without talking down to you. He seemed to genuinely care about me as a patient and was very friendly and asked many questions. I will definitely go back to him!
