Dr. Stephen Michael Berg, MD

I've had only the best care at this practice over the years. Dr Berg is an experienced, knowledgeable and caring physician.

In a moment of extreme misguided frustration, I reviewed Dr. Berg with one star and a lengthy complaint about not being allowed back in the exam room. I also made an extremely juvenile comment about the woman who escorts patients back regarding her hair color. This posting was extremely inappropriate. Ultimately, I was able to go back to the exam room. Dr. Berg was extremely kind and spent more time with my husband and I than any other doctor I have ever experienced. He answered all of our questions and commented that his job was to advocate to the best of his ability for his patients. Please do yourself a favor and ignore the ridiculous feedback titled "Sneaky and Questionable". This is inaccurate and made after a very snap judgement. After the entire visit concluded, I would highly recommend Dr. Berg.

My husband had a very unique medical situation. He needed s follow up with Dr Berg and I, as his wife, had critical information that my husband could not provide. My husband was hospitalized and was given medication that cause drowsiness. There were parts of his hospital stay that he could not articulate. I was refused admission to my husbands appointment. I was not afforded the opportunity to advocate for him. The woman who escorted him back had bubblegum pink hair and did not instill any type of confidence as she completely lacked the professional appearance one would expect to find at a doctor’s office. The entire experience struck me as very odd. I have never been unable to accompany my husband to an exam room at any other medical facility. If you want the assurance that you will be able to have a family member by your side DO NOT visit Dr. Berg. You will leave very frustrated and needing to search for a quality provider.

I have been a patient of Dr. Berg's for many years. I find both he and his Nurse Practitioner to be very friendly and willing to spend as much time with me as necessary. I would not recommend this office solely on the basis of a very rude receptionist (Mary). Both in person and via the phone, her customer service skills are highly lacking, to say the least. I am frankly surprised that Dr. Berg would retain her, considering his friendly demeanor, and the friendly demeanor of the rest of the staff. Over the years, I have seen a change in the approach from Dr. Berg. At times, things seem more like a monetary transaction visit, designed to around a co-payment and insurance reimbursement, than a legitimate healthcare well or sick visit.

I have been a patient at this practice for several years. All of my experiences with staff, nurse practitioners, and Dr. Berg have been positive. I have always been asked whether I prefer to see the doctor or the nurse practitioner when I schedule an appointment. Dr. Berg has seen me for my annual physical, my checkup appointments, and for unexpected illness visits. He is a science-based physician who listens to patients and advises them as needed. He is positive in his approach and provides honest, excellent care, as does the nurse practitioner and the office staff. They exhibit concern for me and provide quality care. I would recommend the practice and have done so.

I have been a patient of Dr. Berg's for going on a decade, and I have nothing but great things to say about him, NP Rebecca O'Der, and the staff at Internal Medicine of Blue Ash. To the person who posted about a $75 versus $208 bill -- I think it's admirable that Dr. Berg's office accepts patients without insurance, AND EVEN OFFERS THEM A DISCOUNT when their services are paid for at the time of their appointment. I'm assuming this patient must not have done so, and was therefore charged the full amount. Having spoken several times to the billing manager, I know the office is prompt (whenever possible, of course) in addressing billing issues. Dr. Berg does tend to run behind, but only because he spends time with his patients and listens to what they have to say. His diagnoses are always spot on. Becky (the NP) is FANTASTIC. Her schedule tends to be a bit more flexible, and if you need to get in for a sick visit, she is always accommodating. I feel this office is second to none,… and that's why my entire family (and many of our friends) count ourselves as the lucky patients here.

Was told my visit would cost $75. Went to the Appointment, reiterated i was there only to get prescription refilled. Get a bill a week later for $208. Said they would have collected my $75 at time of appointment. I was not Told this BY anyone. Then the NP unilaterally change my medication. Despicable.

Starting approximately 2009 Dr. Berg decided he'd rather have his patients see his nurse practitioner rather than himself. Also around this time, he started charging administrative fees for certain forms and insurance approvals. He also requires more frequent appointments than other doctors if you're prescribed a statin drug.

My last two visits I waited 45 minutes before anything happened. In both cases I never saw the doctor, I saw his reasonably capable NP. Afterward we had a billing issue that took a long time to resolve, and in the end I was left with the feeling the doctor didn't want to offer simple services like a physical without billing me. Now they are sending me a schedule of costs to fill out forms like $50 for disability. Either that or subscribe for all services for $100/year, thus, they get paid whether I need to see them or not. So, I am searching for a new doctor.

They're so friendly and accommodating. They fit me in when I'm sick and run any needed tests there such as blood work, urine samples and even X Rays . The nursing staff is so skilled. They don't even hurt when they draw blood. I would recommend this practice to anyone!
