Dr. Stephen N Bushek, MD

My experiences with Dr.Bushek are he is a great doctor who has compassion. I have never had a doctor spend so much time making sure he understood all the details of my case. Last time that I saw him we left his office 45 minutes after his office closed because he spent over an hour with me. Most doctors I have been to act like they know everything they need to know about me in less than five minutes and don' t have the time to hear me outout. Not Dr. Bushek. He took the time to answer all my questions and showed concern not only for my physical well being, but my emotional well being as well. He also dealt with multiple concerns of mine and he follows up on all the things we talk about don't run from him run to Dr. Bushel you will be glad you did.

Dr. Bushek has been my family doctor for more than 10 years.He treats my family and I as though we are the only patients he is seeing for that day.He is patient, kind, and extremely knowledgable.

Poor listening for a doctor, would only treat one medical complaint per visit. I felt like I was a burden, ignored and dismissed. Maybe he is just in it for the money. I gave him a few chances but I will never go back after today.

My husband is 84 years old and has never had a doctor be so thorough and take so much time with him! Our previous family doctor (20+ years) had a heavy patient load and after my husband was in his late 70's just seemed to downplay his multiple health issues and write them off to old age and didn't really "do" anything, as if nothing could be done and he wasn't important anymore. But I knew he deserved better than that and sought out a geriatric doctor who specialize on the unique needs of the elderly. We were fortunate to find Dr Bushek, one of only a few board certified geriatric doctors in Columbus and who accepts my husband's insurance (MediGold). I was very impressed at the first visit when Dr Bushek spent over an hour with us going over my husband's lengthy medical history, each of his many prescriptions, everything! My husband had recently been in the hospital for 10 days and of course had endured a gamut of tests and blood work. Dr Bushek was able to review those… results on his computer, took him off a couple of meds that were dangerous for him to be taking because of his age and certain conditions he had, put him on safer ones, and ordered further blood work to check on levels that hadn't been tested. He takes the same extraordinary care and time with him every appointment. That's why we don't mind if we have to wait to see him. So many doctors schedule too many patients too close together, and you wait forever and only see the doctor for 5 minutes. That is not the case with Dr. Bushek. If we have to wait, we know it's because he's spending as much time as needed with his other patients as he does with my husband. He never rushes and always makes my husband feel special. He has a message system for delivering test results but has personally called us at home on occasion. We live on the far east side of Columbus and his office is clear up north on Karl Rd, but for the caliber of care my husband receives, it's well worth the 18 mile drive. One office staff member doesn't come across as very friendly on the phone, but in person, they're all always nice and friendly. We highly recommend Dr. B to anyone needing a caring, concerned doctor~~especially those over 70.

Spent over an hour and a half waiting one visit and that was before I was taken back to wait some more. Quality of care is mediocre at best. Needless to say I am currently looking for another physician.
