Dr. Stephen Keith Heier, MD

Never received proper follow ups, could never get through to speak to a live person and mailbox would be full. Now I am investigating an issue that should have been could 2 years ago. I would urge anyone looking to find a different doctor.

He did multiple colonoscopies told me he treated my colon -3 labs could not identify mass. He said I needed more tests I called 4x never heard back from his "staff-wife"!! In report states colon cancer and I never had it!!!! Contacted AMA=JAMA=and atty.

Barely responded, evasive to questions every time, kept waiting up to 2 hours.. Relies on. being named by most docs in area. Just because he is local, and not for quality. Told by staff the procedure does upper and lower, after the procedure told it only did lower, would need another procedure.Then given explanation of course it can't do both, would have to do another. Doctor didnt answer calls for weeks and staff jerking me around, or getting rude because I dare to ask questions,boasting how great he is and to trust him..I go hospital get to him finally and to ask questions in OR, refuses to answer me, doesn't, saying got other patients waiting after me. Then gives me b.s. statement after that he cares about all patients...lol..staff in office likely family, very untrusthworthy. Go to NYC to find a decent doc.

Without a doubt, hands down the best Gastrointestinal doctor in NY! Love him!

After a year of having a Colonoscopy with Dr. Heier I am still waiting for Dr. Heier to call me back with the results of it. His staff said that my preventive procedure was changed to Diagnostic because I had a "pre-cancerous" condition which they denied they said event though that conversation was recorded. I am appalled at Dr. Heier and his staff unprofessional conduct.

I came to Dr. Heier with pancreatic problems that no other GI could figure out. No other doctor would even take the time to really look into what the problem was. Dr. Heier would do numerous tests and checks just to get to the source of the problem. At times I thought it was too much but due to his persistence he helped save my life from pancreatic cancer. His determination and non stop tests kept me alive. I owe him so much. He is thorough and won't give up till he finds what the problem is. He's the kind of doctor every doctor should be. He takes time to talk to his patients and lets them know exactly what is going on. He gets right to the point and is very straight forward. He is the kind of doctor I would recommend to anyone with GI problems.

Caring, compassionate and incredibly skilled. I was referred to him by the head of colo-rectal surgery at Sloan Kettering NYC. I was told by that doctor that Dr. Heier is the best around. Dr. Heier discovered a very rare tumor I am sure all other doctors would have missed and then set up extensive testing to be sure that there were no other locations in my body...He and his staff have been on top of my follow up care, which has included routine testing to be sure nothing turns up again...... The man saved my life. I would recommend him highly to all.

Dr. Heier is a most compassionate and thorough practitioner of his craft. He is unfailingly gracious and spends time with his patients and willingly answers all questions. I feel very comfortable in his most capable hands and have recommended him to friends. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

I can honestly say that Dr. Heier has saved my life! He was able to diagnose when others could not. I would recommend him to anyone experiencing serious gatrointestinal issues.
