Dr. Pereira and his staff are professional and compassionate. I was experiencing very painful esophageal spasms and could not swallow. Immediately following surgery, I felt relief. Now 6 weeks post surgery, I am completely back to myself and able to eat and swallow normally. Can’t thank Dr. Pereira enough!

Stay away. Horrible experience. Staff will loose your documents and than claim never received. Doctor will never tell you that you will have to wait for the surgery over a month or just lie about hospital availability. Not worth your time

I had a double hernia and the doctors did robotic surgery in which I had 5 little scars and 6-8 weeks later I don't even remembering that I even had surgery. I would highly recommend these doctors for hernia surgery.

Hope I would never have to do this again but Dr Pereira would definitely would be my #1 choice. He was right during my consultation on with what to expect. I had my IH for over 14 years, became bigger about the size of a small cantaloupe & it moved into my scrotum. Because of a previous Laparoscopic Prostate surgery in 2001 robotic surgery was the only way to go for my surgery. I choose a highly regarded experienced robotic surgeon Stephen Pereira MD who has been doing & teaching robotic surgery since 2000. He has had done countless numbers of minimally invasive inguinal hernia repairs both both laparoscopic and robot assisted, on men who have had prostatectomies. Results were FANTASTICâ?¦ I did not even have to take any pain meds. I was even able to do work at my computer the afternoon of surgery & everyday after. It is now 3.5 weeks post surgery I am walking on treadmill & functioning quite normally as prior to surgery (am following Drâ??s orders & not lifting anything over… 15lbs)â?¦ & I do not have the hernia & feeling great!

I saw Dr. Pereira after my other surgeon had pretty much given up on my complex case. Dr. Pereira is a very in demand surgeon, but he gave me plenty of personal care and attention. He listened to me when I described my symptoms, heard my concerns, and kept in mind my view points and feelings on every step that we took. He treated me like a person, not just a medical file and because of this, he was able to diagnose a problem that others overlooked. I'm very thankful for Dr. Pereira's genuine patient care. I felt like he was really trying to help the entire time I was in the hospital under his guidance and we worked together to toss out different ideas in order to pin point the problem. Great person, will be going to him whenever I need surgery.

Dr. Pereira is one of THE BEST surgeons in Bergen County. I was needing an emergency operation and he was there immediately. He was able to calm me and explained the entire procedure to me. His bedside manner is first class. The operation was a success and the after care he and his staff offered and provided was exceptional. Highly recommended and caring surgeon!
