Dr. Steve Duffy, MD

Dr Duffy and his staff are a true reflection of excellent patient care. A trip back to Michigan to assist my father who was battling cancer and my sister a disabled veteran, 26 yrs army, it took its toll on me physically. When I returned to Texas I had a hernia that was painful so I decided to look into a repair. I selected this Surgeon based on all the good things I had heard. From the first step into the office I was pleased with the warm welcoming. I was assessed only to find out I had 3 hernias, however, I had no fear whatsoever as I was told in a calm voice all the details and options ,surgically, there were for the repairs. My surgery went exactly as I was informed and the follow up was just as comforting as my first visit. Again, if ever someone is in need of a caring surgeon and staff, this IS the place to go.

After having my intestines lacerated from a hysterectomy and emergency surgery to repair this, I was left with a rather large hernia, which literally made me look about 5 months pregnant. Dr. Duffy reassured me that this could be remedied and explained thoroughly, what I could expect from surgery to recovery. I can assure you he is very passionate about what he does and I am so thankful that I was led to him after what I have experienced.

Not a compatinate doctor when it comes to post operative pain. My girlfriend had emergency gallbladder surgery to have it removed and sent her home with the same kind of pain medicine my dentist gave me for a toothache. I understand there is an opiod epidemic in this country, but when you put 4 holes in a small girl and remove a gallbladder then send her home to suffer, sounds like bad medicine to me. She called his office the next day and they told her to take benadryl to sleep. I wouldn't suggest surgery with Dr. Duffy unless you want to suffer when you go home. There are plenty of good General Surgeons in North Dallas choose wisely.

It's been a little more than 4 weeks since Dr. Duffy repaired my umbilical hernia and I can't be more pleased with the entire experience. As a physician myself I know how important it is to choose a surgeon with the technical expertise to address your problem. Finding a surgeon that also has great interpersonal skills, a fantastic office and staff and the time to explain and answer questions is a rarity. Dr. Duffy is just such a surgeon and I recommend him highly.

I have had really bad luck with doctors over the past several years. So much so that I had stopped going altogether. That was until I had a bad case of diverticulitis and needed emergency surgery. I ended up with a colostomy. Fortunately for me my surgeon was Dr Duffy. First off, he saved my life with the surgery. But more importantly he helped me get over the emotional stress of having a colostomy. He has renewed my faith in medicine. And in a couple months he will revese my colostomy. I highly recommend him to everyone and anyone. Thanks Dr Duffy
