Through, personable, good listener, VERY professional. I would rate Dr. Coletti as one of the finest Cardiologist in South Florida. His office is clean, COVID-19 protected and super well-equipped.

This happened last year but I am finally well enough to respond. I saw him for two years, everything fine for awhile. Things started when I had SOB (shortness of breath) and he stated a stress test was in order, and that his office could do it. I have a barrel chest (wide), and he failed to take into account the fact that the office, which puts a strap around the chest to be able to monitor results, would not be able to take the test as the strap was not wide enough. I cancelled the first appt due to illness, then apparently was refused the second appt when I inadvertently arrived 15 min late (the tech was only staying so long etc). I was all ready the third time, but luckily a lab tech happened to be walking by who heard the conversation between myself and front desk. He immediately took me aside and tape measured me. Sure enough (and I appreciate his eagle eye) he told me they could not do the test. He told the front desk clerk, who looked flummoxed. Colletti when confronted at next… appt admitted he should have thought of that and then brushed it aside. This, however, was only the beginning. My fiancee is a nurse, and due to fluid in the legs (edema) caused by a cellulitus condition years ago (which Colletti knew about) I was again SOB. Instead of Colletti taking over, I basically had to communicate with his medical assistant, who I have to say was very nice throughout. Point being, however, she was not the doctor. She runs interference for him. My fiancee, who is a nurse, recommended Potassium, which as it turns out I was not getting although I was on diuretics and meds to control blood pressure. Once again, med asst ran it through doctor who agreed. Point being that he should have put me on Potassium in the first place because not doing so could have caused a severe heart issue down the line. This was negligent medicine, and I can attest to this due to my past 15 years experience as Sr Medical Conduct Investigator for the NYS Medical Board. I wound up speaking with their office mgr, who escalated the situation claiming I was continually contacting their office about it. Well, the reason for that was that nobody was returning phone calls with the Potassium issue, and I was getting very frustrated. She was defensive and quite frankly rude. If it had not been for her insensitivity, perhaps this might have been rectified, but I wanted to talk with Dr Colletti and ask for an apology regarding the treatment. She refused to let me speak with him. and did not return my subsequent follow up calls regarding the matter. So I showed up at the office unannounced to speak with the Medical Asst (not him) about it, and to talk with her in person. She led me outside the office and we talked about it. A meeting of the minds finally was struck, and I was going to let it go, when I happened to look in the direction of the Office Door and saw two security guards standing there. Unbeknownst to me, she had called for them in advanced and placed them there anticipating trouble which would never have happened. I confronted her about why they were there, and she said she had to take precautions. When I asked her if she had spoken to staff about any issues in the past that pointed to prior evidence of physical encounters (and of course she would have been told there weren't, such as speaking with the Medical Asst and Colletti) she remained silent. I left, and transferred to another doctor (Carida II), which I definitely recommend-and I hope anybody how reads this will consider transferring over. Finally, there was a big hassle in transferring records over by clerical staff, which the Office Mgr admitted was her fault. Too little, too late, but it was very aggravating. I finally called Holy Cross Hospital to complain about this, spoke to the office of the Office Mgrs direct boss, had a pleasant conversation with her-but no call back from her boss, who was in but refused to take the call. She did try. So that's it. Sorry for not doing this sooner-but I advise readers not to be misled by his charming demeanor. He is a marginal MD except for non urgent issues. Robert Carida II is much better-practices in Delray, affiliated with Boca Regional and Delray Medical Center. Good luck.
