Fabulous Doctor.I saw him with chroniclowerback pain that I had suffered with for two years. Walked in unable to support my weight in the morning without great agony. Walked out pain free and limber. Super!! Very get to the point and professional. Love him!!

Dr. Dorfman is brilliant and has seen it all. I'm a Type 1 who has been dealing with diabetes since age 12. As he told me when I first went to him, he does review his notes, previous entries, etc. and type into your records during the appointment. He said that some patients don't like this, but he prefers to get all the info rather than try to make his reports later. I have noticed this with other caregivers, too as electronic records have been more utilized. I take no offense to it because my goal is getting the best care. As with any endocrinologist's office, yes - there is some wait. There are tons of diabetics and not enough endocrinologists for you to walk right in and be seen. I've never been to any doctor's office where I had no wait time. There is a patient portal available for your review of your bloodwork and testing results. They will call you if there is anything that requires immediate attention. There are PA's and diabetes educators who I've found helpful in tweaking… my diet, trying different testing methods, minor insulin adjustments, etc. Some of the reviewers seem to have an unrealistic expectation of what a doctor can do to alleviate their diabetic related symptoms. I think this is more typical of those who are older when they are diagnosed. Dr. Dorfman is a very nice man who is very busy. I'm glad for the time he spends with me and the experience he brings to the table.

I have seen Dr. Dorfman on and off for more than 2 decades. He can be moody. Sometimes very talkative and sometimes very curt. He listens poorly and interrupts. He lists every possible condition on medical reports but does not make positive or encouraging recommendations. I tried to see one of his partners some time ago but his office would not let me.

Horrible experience! Overcrowded waiting area full of ticked off patients. He may have tons of experience and diplomas, but he didn't even wait for the lidocaine to kick in before stabbing my neck for the biopsy. Then had the nerve to say he didn't think he got enough sample since I moved around so much. Left the office in tears and without even an apology.

I was referred to Dr D in 2003 by my primary care doctor in Plano. He and his staff have been very good at calling me with my lab results by phone and by mail. His nurses input any changes in health, medicines, symptoms and just taken vital signs into the computer. Dr D will come in, ask me how I am, then excuse himself while he reads all of the entries done by his nurse. He will then come over and begin the examination. After a thorough exam he will return to the computer to enter his findings. While doing so he will go over all of the tests he has ordered. His Dallas office is the only one that does the bone density screening. There are a few other tests that are only done at the Dallas office. After my blood is drawn I'm able to proceed on to checkout following a quick stop at bathroom to leave a urine sample, if ordered. Checking out and scheduling my follow up appointment can take a little while. Thete can be two office staff members at checkout, but most of the time I only saw… one. There are many doctors all seeing patients on the same day and a line can form at checkout. Parking is more difficult at the Dallas office. The Plano office has more handicap spaces and the ground is level. The Dallas office is situated on a hill. Out front parking requires walking down hill taking the stairs down to the front entrance. The handicapped parking spaces are at the rear entrance. All rear parking spaces require walking up a long ramp to reach the rear entrance door.

I have been seeing Dr Dorfman for over 3 years. They never follow up with me even when something is off on my blood tests. I've complained to him about consistent symptoms I've had since my first visit and he has no desire to help me. His only answer is, "we will see what your blood tests show." But then no one ever follows up. I've cried to him begging him to help me, but he just doesn't care. Once he even said, "you can try antidepressants or you can just be tired." And he walked out of the room.

Having the same Dr perform bloodwork, biopies, ultrasounds, RAI is a medical risk and should not be allowed.

I've been going here for almost a year after a thyroidectomy. I've had lots of symptoms of hypothyroid but refuses to listen or change meds. Goes by numbers on tests, not patient complaints. Will now go elsewhere where the dr actually listens.

Both my and close friends doctor. I believe he was once president of the Texas Endocrinologist Association of Texas.
