Extremely inappropriate exam and bedside manner. He has very poor communication skills, did not allow questions, makes jokes about his patients and provided no guidance at all. I was left quite astounded. He didn’t even say goodbye, just walked out of the room without saying anything. It was so odd. Dr Kariya was easily the worst “Dr” I’ve even seen.

Went with respiratory issues. Humiliated me in front of his office station. Made me feel that nothing was wrong with me. Infact that I was acting to get more time off whereas I was restless, hypoxic and ended up admitted in the hospital the next day. Did not ask me to go to the ED, did not ask his office to call ambulance for me to take me ED. He was like Lucifer reincarnate came out. Still telling me I did not look good. Chased me out of his office to come back in 6weeks. Cruel and cold hearted. Be warned. Stay away!!!

Some personality quirk—counted out loud to 20 as he washed his hands (like a child would) when he could have used time to question pt. Talked to pt about unrelated subjects while searching db & how if he inputs one thing he can’t get result, but if types another then it works. What! Who cares? Why didn’t he compare current lung CT w/scan he previously ordered? Instead ordered pt. to get another! Viewed current scan by talking out loud about anatomical sights, way beyond the lungs, & way beyond pt. comprehension at the time. In fact, pt. now realizes he was just talking to himself about what he was seeing. Creepy.

Dr. Kariya was recommended by a friend and I'm so glad I scheduled the appointment. He took the time to concisely and clearly go over all information regarding a CT scan and possible conditions related to findings. I never felt rushed, he asked me tons of questions and my visit was overall, a great experience. I would highly recommend him.
