Dr. Leon is extremely professional, friendly, and thorough. He will spend the time and effort to answer any questions or concerns you may have. He is a gifted Neurosurgeon. He performed a cervical fusion on me and I'm quite happy with the results. I trust Dr. Leon with my life. He helped me when others refused to. You will not be disappointed with Dr. Leon and his entire team.

My elderly dad, who was on coumadin, fell and hit his head on the bathroom floor earlier this year. His Subdural Hematoma was emergently treated by Dr Leon. I cannot give higher praise to this great doctor who saved my dad's life. Neurologically, his post-op care went flawlessly though my dad developed other medical problems during his month-long hospital stay. Dr Leon is a nice guy and was always easy to contact. It's never a great situation if you find yourself in need of a neurological surgeon, but if Dr Leon's on call, you're in good hands.

I'll be honest, I was quite disappointed in Dr. Leon's performance level considering that Dr. Leon went to Harvard Medical School. One would expect a graduate from Harvard to be someone who would put in a great deal of effort into saving a sick person's life; alas, I feel his amount of effort could charitably be described as "adequate." For example, he put a brain shunt into my Mom - who had suffered a major stroke - which had to come out because it became infected. Well, it turns out that there are shunts which come with antibiotic already in them, to help prevent this complication. Dr. Leon either didn't care or wasn't aware of this; neither is acceptable. When the shunt came out she declined drastically. It also turns out that there is a surgical procedure called a "Third Ventriculostomy" which achieves the same result as the shunt, without the complications. Dr. Leon did not bother to make us aware of this potentially life-saving option. I don't deny that he "has the… skills," but so do almost all other surgeons. It is sad that somebody who has been graced with these skills and an obvious high level of intelligence would not make EVERY effort to use those skills to save someone's life and heal them *EVERY* time, no matter what the difficulties. One of the reasons Patricia Rigney died is that that shunt had to come out and that we weren't aware of the second option until it was essentially too late. A higher level of effort from this Harvard-educated surgeon might have prevented that. In my opinion, he has a lot of thinking to do. This is a field where adequate isn't good enough. Somebody who went to Harvard should know that.
