Dr. Steven Karl Zorn, MD

Dr Zorn took wonderful care of my mother when she was a heart patient as long ago as the 1980s. I have been a patient of Dr Zorn's through Iowa Sleep for for many years myself, and it has drastically changed my life for the better. There are those employees that may not be a good fit in certain positions/jobs. Maybe just not People Persons. And it's a given, and unrealistic to think any business office wouldn't have some turnover of their staff. However, the medical attention I needed, was overlooked by many other medical practices/locations for over a decade, whereas Dr Zorn and Iowa Sleep discovered and solved the debilitating condition I had. He and his staff, enabled me to regain and resume a life I forgot I had, and didn't think I would ever realize again. I believe achieving accurate results in any medical realm, requires us being a good patient. Meaning that one needs to convey and be well-informed of what all their medical conditions actually indicate. If one… personally, does not have a clear understanding of what might actually be the cause of your own medical conditions, you can't possibly be a good patient and expect to receive good results.

Do not go to this location for anything! They are rude, unprofessional, untruthful and simply just greedy. There is a reason the reviews are so horrible! I wish I would have checked them before hand. They will cancel appointments on you. Just don’t!!!!

You can't get anything accomplished with this office. Double digit phone calls with no response. They don't reply to suppliers, don't send faxes. I do NOT recommend this office.

Cannot believe how poorly run this practice is. Never return phone calls. One option for apnea AND THAT's IT. CPAP or nothing.

Some of the medicines prescribed here are life-threatening if not taken on time. Several times (okay, more than a third of the times) nurses have made mistakes in calling in prescriptions, or called them in late, and it's exceedingly difficult to even get hold of anyone in the office to rectify mistakes. Usually, you can't even talk to a person, you just get voicemail, and then, many times, they don't even bother to call you back. They try to cover their mistakes with "alternate facts" and excuses and get hostile when confronted with problems they've caused. To his credit, Dr. Zorn (owner of the offices) did correctly diagnose our malady, and when pressed, took time to describe and answer questions about the various treatment options. However, we've only seen him once, and have been vectored to his nurses for all subsequent followup appointments. It would be nice if we could talk to him about how the treatments are working, and how we're doing. It doesn't seem that he, or the… office cares. There's two offices, Ankeny and West Des Moines. We transferred (and have to drive further) to the West Des Moines office, after years of problems with the Ankeny office. So far, at least with regard to filling prescriptions, it's going a little smoother. I wish there was another sleep center in the Des Moines area, but I can't find one. I'm just surprised and dismayed at the levels of unprofessional attitudes, uncaring about patients, and general incompetence shown by this medical practice. This isn't just a snarky, petulant response to a bad office visit, this is an honest appraisal of several years of experience we've had with this practice. It gives me no joy to write something like this, but it's the truth, and if it helps someone else, then it's worth it.

I have nothing good to say about how this Doctor runs his practice, can't be trusted, don't waste your time...

Seemed to have zero knowledge about my other medications. Wanted me to cold turkey my anti depressant before the sleep study so it "would work better". No medicine was working but he still made me pay a $50 copay to come in and tell him the EXACT symptoms I had from the beginning. Told me "he doesn't know what else to do" after only trying TWO medications. My psychiatrist was better help then him and she doesn't even specialize in sleep disorders. Also, the front desk ladies are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I needed to schedule an appointment and the lady looks over at the other one and said "can you deal with this? I'm trying to leave" HATED that place. Don't waste time or money

His staff went from being friendly, helpful and even fun to being rude, incompetent and giving incorrect information.He seems either board or disinterested and wants to pawn you off onto his support staff.

Errogant piece of you know what.All he cares about is getting more business which gets more money. He has the power of the pen and will make you pay.
