Dr. Stuart David Lerner, MD

I am not a patient of Dr. Lerner and have never seen him, however, my medical records were transferred to his office when my then-doctor left the island. I have been trying to get those records transferred to my current doctor for the last 9 months, with no success. The people who answer the phone promise me things which never happen. I've called every month and filed transfer forms and still nothing. Be aware that if they get your records, you may never get them back. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but this is being done in desperation as I feel I am out of options.

Dr. Lerner and his excellent staff have consistently treated me with compassionate, intelligent, and conservative care. I feel confident and comfortable in their care. The staff is friendly and considerate, and Dr. Lerner is thorough, attentive, has current medical information and a good sense of humor. He's one of the good ones so the office does get busy. Worth the wait.

Dr. Lerner is super personable, and although he has a busy practice I never feel rushed. He always answers all my questions and addresses all my concerns.

We (my wife and I) had been looking for a general practitioner and were referred to Dr. Lerner. My wife called and made an appointment for her to receive a physical and for me to establish primary care and see about allergy testing. We arrived with our 2 young children (we are new to the island and did not have anyone else to care for them). We waited in the lobby with the kids for 1 hour and 15 minutes, before being called in to see the doctor. We went in and the nurse took our vitals and then left us in a small room with the 2 children for another hour without anyone informing us that it might be a while or checking in on us. Finally, we decided we had to leave because the children couldn't sit there any longer and we were beyond frustrated. As we were about to walk out, Dr. Lerner entered the room and we decided to stay since we had waited so long already. Dr. Lerner was extremely short with us. He informed my wife that he did not have time to do her physical and that she… would have to make another appointment. He prescribed her with an antibiotic to help with stomach issues that she brought up. She specifically asked him if she could take the medication while she was breastfeeding, and he said yes. Upon picking up the medication, the instructions said NOT RECOMMEDNED FOR BREASTFEEDING. For my allergy testing, he just ushered me out of the door into the lobby and informed me that I would need to get the testing somewhere else and to make another appointment with him to go over the results. So, after a 2 + hour wait to see the doctor, he did not have time for the physical my wife had made an appointment for, prescribed my wife with medication that she can't take while breastfeeding, and informed me I need to go get the allergy testing done elsewhere. It will be interesting to see what Dr. Lerner billed our insurance for, considering he didn't actually do anything. Our experience at Dr. Lerner's office was, to put is softly, TERRIBLE.

Dr. Lerner has always made me feel I could trust him, he listens to me and doesn't make me feel rushed during office visits. He's a nice person and I feel confident in his diagnosis and treatment plans.

Dr Lerner is the finest doctor I've ever seen. He actually cares about each one of his patients and provides comprehensive healthcare in 96734.

I would recommend to family since he takes most insurance companies.Seems to go all out in listening to what a patient wants as far as lab test, and treatment. Doesn't make a patient beg for medication.
