Dr. Melcer completed his postgraduate education in General Surgery at the University of Arizona in 1993 and has been caring for the people of Tucson for the last 25 years. As a minimally invasive surgeon, Dr. Melcer is one of the most experienced robotic trained general surgeons in Pima County and serves as proctor to teaching those surgeons interested in learning robotic-assisted surgery.

In addition to small incisions, less pain and quicker recoveries as seen with laparoscopic surgery, the benefits of robotic assisted surgery include enhanced visualization, increased dexterity, and greater surgical precision.
