Apprehensive, then comfortable, bottom line, happy I made right choice!

Dr.Magge has been following my cervical and lumbar stenosis situation over a period of 5 years. He has always taken the time to order update MRI’s and has explained risk/ benefit to me regarding my serious cord compression status. He also advised me as to when I should return between yearly monitoring dates should any changes take place. Recently, I did just that. David Melzak, Dr. Magge’s Nurse Practitioner saw me to order scans and interpret them. David expedited my appointment with Dr. Magee as he sensed the need for me to be seen sooner rather than later. I look forward to my February visit and am so thankful to have had such fine and compassionate care all these years.Thank you Dr. Subu Magge and NP David Melzak!!

I have had 4 cervical surgeries performed by Dr. Magge. Each one a surgical success. The last one was quadruple laminectomy with fusion. Dr. Magge is gifted and talented like no other neurosurgeon!

I had disc surgery a little over a year now by Dr. Magge. I was very happy with my results. The surgery was the front and back of my neck. I feel very good now. Dr Magge is highly recommended by me.

I was thrown from a horse and suffered a burst fracture of L1. I was transported from a local hospital in Derry NH to Lahey Clinic in Burlington MA. Dr. Magge and his staff were exceptional. I had a complex unstable fracture needing surgery. I am so grateful to be walking. Many people with the type of injury i sustained are not so lucky. From surgery to follow up , I received top notch care. I was back to work as a full time RN in 12 weeks. I would highly recommend Dr. Magge and his team.

Dr Magge in diagnosing my issue which was first treated improperly by a different physician at another hospital. He spoke in terms I could totally understand and fixed my problem. I recommend him and his coworkers to all!!!

After receiving an initial diagnosis from one neurosurgeon, I elected to go for a second opinion with Dr. Magge. Dr. Magge spent upwards of 1 1/2 hours with my wife and I explaining my condition any explaining his opinion of my condition. Both doctors opinions were 180 degree polar opposite of each other. I elected to receive treatment from Dr. Magge and I am feeling much better. Kind, compassionate, easy to talk to, answered all of my questions and no pressure for me to commit to his treatment plan. A # 1 neurosurgeon. I would highly reccommend him!

I feel blessed, having been introduced to Dr. Magge, as well as his assistants & other support staff!!!It's only approx. 2-1/2 months post op (C4 - T1), and it feels wonderful to be free of that excruciating pain in that area. I also believe I have already progressed considerably with arm/hand pain & all other associated symptoms.Dr. Magge is always very professional, very thorough, as well as empathetic to me as a patient.Dr. Magge and staff have ALWAYS promptly returned phone calls, answered questions and ensured that I had all necessary information. If I left that office with a question of ANY sort, it was because I forgot to ask.I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Magge for ANY possible neuro surgical needs!For pre-post op visits, I incur either a 7 hr. drive or fly, 2 days of lodging/food expenses/shuttles, etc. Yet, I would NOT have it any other way!Dr. Magge was the ONLY neuro surgeon I entrusted with this VERY MAJOR surgery!

I had bilateral laminectomy L1-5 for pretty tight lumbar stenosis, no fusion, and have had a good outcome. Magge seems technically very deft, clinically smart and clear, and a nice guy as well. Like all surgeons and their practices, he is not always discursive and is mindful of and practices efficiency. I believe some other spine surgeons, orthos especially, might be less conservative (not judging either way), but I am pleased at the results of my major adventure, and recognize that spine surgery partly entails treatment judgment as well as technical expertise.

Last year I had a microdiscectomy that was performed by Dr. Magge. I had already had a long and complicated history getting to this point, and he recognized that surgery was the appropriate step to take. His manner was extremely friendly and professional, and I would recommend treatment by Dr. Magge to anyone in need of a first or second opinion with regard to back pain.

Dr. Magge seemed to have little interest in my herniated disc and prescribed neurontin. Never was able to communicate with the doctor after that point, was always in contact with his assistant. After a bad reaction to neurontin I was prescribed Lyrica which did nothing for pain and only caused depression and anxiety. The doctor requested a second opinion so that was done. Before he rec'd the 2nd opinion he had already decided to not help me and had no interest in this second opinion at all. I left messages trying to get answers and find out next steps in fixing my back but I was never called back. BTW, the second opinion I received recommended surgery.

I had an L4/L5 Microdiscetomy about a month ago and each week feel better and better. No more sciatic pain.. I can start enjoying the things most folks take for granted again..
