I am a patient of Dr Sumir Patel for over10 years. He always gives you plenty of time to talk to him and explains what’s happening with you. Also very smart and soft approach. Never had any problems with him or his staff. Very caring. I’m sticking with him. Gloria

Dr Patel was very compassionate and knowledgeable. I did not feel rushed at all. He asked me several times if there was anything else he needed to know. He listened and valued what I had to say.

Sumir Patel is a great doctor. Great patient care. He has been my gastro Dr for years. Would recommend him to anyone I know that is looking for a gastro specialist.

Call to schedule appt. Turned out I had seen a different doctor in the same group on my last screening. They used out of network a anesthesiologist that wanted money that should have been covered in the procedure. I told the person that I needed to make sure this did not happen again. She said it was in the paperwork. I told her that was fine but I needed a way not to have that happen again. She said this is how they did it and disconnected with me. I would never use this group.

I completely agree with the other post titled "DISHONEST". I was referred to Dr. Sumir M Patel by my primary for a routine preventive colonoscopy. New to Arizona so my first doctor office visits in AZ. He asked for my medical history and then he billed me as non-preventive due to past removal of Polyps - that I had removed 8 years ago. What was supposed to be a routine screening, turned out to be thousands of dollars in bills for the colonoscopy alone! BEFORE the procedure, I called his office and left a message for Carla. Carla called and left a message for me, which I still have, stating that there would NO out-of-pocket costs for this routine colonoscopy screening but I'm still fighting back and forth with Dr. Patel on re-coding so that my insurance will cover it - it was preventive after all. He coded it as "past history of Polyps" but he would not have known about that IF he has not asked about my history. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO DR. SUMIR PATEL'S OFFICE IF YOU DO NOT WANT… TO PAY OUT-OF-POCKET FOR PREVENTIVE SERVICES THAT ARE COVERED BY INSURANCE. What a racket! I am posting this on every website I can find and reporting him to the BBB, medical board, and whom/where ever else I can. People need to know about his unethical practices, and he needs to be stopped.

First visit with Dr. Patel was a pleasant experience. Went in to review recent diagnosis and medicine review. He was extremely thorough in explaining diagnosis as well as why each a medicine was necessary. He was a great listener and answered all my questions. I left knowing I was on the right path.

I went to him to do a colonoscopy as part of a physical self directed physical by my blue cross plan . Then he asked a bunch of questions I stated I do have some symptoms but will discuss with my primary doctor as i didnt want this to be diagnose procedure as my insurance company actually coached me that it would be coded differently and my cost would go up . He stated he understood and just do the colonoscopy as part of physical then set me for appointment . Cost thousands out of my pocketband he nor his staff would code it as agreed. Only readon i went to him was as part of physical. He justed wanted to profit more!!

I have seen Dr. Patel for 6 years. He has always been caring, clearly explanated diagnosis and available for appointments. Would and have recommended him to family and friends.
