She called me into her office her at the VA hospital and told me, “Mr. Steadman, we don’t give MRI’s for pain”. Well if she had done her due diligence, she could see that I have spinal cord issues since 1992. Why does she run the spinal cord injury unit?

I’m a 100% Disabled Vet with Paraplegia TBI and a plethora of other issues. Dr. Espeland created and currently manages the SCI where she is my PCP. I was wounded and treated initially by a great team of Doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center. She is the best Physician I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. She always somehow manages to correctly diagnose my very complex issues quickly. She is phenomenal at orchestrating multiple simultaneous referrals, consultations and tests. She is relentlessly, viciously tenacious at finding the correct diagnosis! She referred me to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and got me scheduled for a series of appointments at multiple clinics commencing less than 10 weeks after the date of request! Mayo had explained to me that the wait time to be seen by just the first of three clinics was 3-6 months! Miracle worker!

What makes Dr Esepland stand out she genially cares. Which these days is rare she will take the time to address all your problems. She will come up with a plan and f/u with you when or if she refers you out. She is an excellent doctor.
