Dr. Susan Hagen, MD

Count yourself wildly fortunate to find yourself in Dr Hagen’s excellent care! She has performed two surgeries (one a cyst removal and the other an appendectomy (appendicitis). She is one of the most caring and engaging medical professionals I have met and I thank her for, basically, saving my life.

In addition to hearing murmurs of this happening to others, Susan Hagan left a piece of metal inside me that has left my in a state of chaos. She should retire with the body count she has by now.

At my request, Dr Hagen intervened during my dad's hospital stay, heading off what would have been a fatal surgery. She then ordered an echocardiogram, not relevant to the issue he was being treated for, but was in fact the reason he'd being sent to the ER. Discovered he had a serious heart issue which had been dismissed by the hospitalist. She was responsible for saving his life not once, but twice during his 5 day stay! Further, each time I called the front desk I was immediately patched through to her and received updates from her throughout. Exceptional care!

Unlike many of my recent experiences as a patient, I really felt like I mattered when I was in Dr. Hagen's care. She is patient, spent time answering my questions, and was clear. She was respectful and warm. She also did a great job on my procedure.

Didn't give me the time of day, was snippy (must have been in a mood that day) but it definitely made an impression on me. I'm sure she's a fine surgeon, but I went elsewhere after that encounter for my breast surgery.

Judgmental. Spoke down to me, not good bedside manner

I had surgery with Dr. Hagen and not only was she incredibly friendly and helpful, the rest of the staff was exceptional as well. This was my first major surgery and they got me in and out quicker than expected and I left feeling as though I knew what to expect after as well. Prior to surgery during my first appointment, Dr. Hagen's PA was also incredibly friendly and sympathetic to my issues. I would recommend Dr. Hagen and staff to anyone.

superb doctor very gentle manor

Dr Hagen is the most patient, caring physician I have ever seen. She explained everything to my husband and me in a manner that was both respectful and helpful. We never felt rushed, even when I added family history to the mix. She called me with test results instead of delegating that job to a nurse. She returned all my phone calls the same day and never made me feel like my questions were silly. I also felt like my privacy was considered a priority by the staff.
