Dr. Susan Kaweski, MD

Dr. Kaweski has been my plastic surgeon for over 25 years. She is very particular about her outcomes and that the patient is happy as well. I had an augmentation in 2000 and have had no complications and still have the same implants. She also performed an abdominoplasty and facial surgery involving a neck lift and several other things over the years. Often patients are unhappy because they have failed to follow instructions and don't give their surgery time to settle in as the best results do require patience. Thus they over react and decide that any post op symptoms are errors on the surgeon's part and become unreasonable in their expectations feeing they know more than their surgeon and will not listen to practical advice. Dr Kaweski is very particular in giving her patients the best care and will explain in detail how the procedure is done and how to take care of them selves post operatively and will address any concerns. I have recommended her to others who were very pleased… with their results too. She runs a tight ship and is also respected by her employees. This is a doctor who will do her very best to make you happy.

A better surgical experience I can't imagine. At 72 years, I was in need of a facelift. After years of excessive sun exposure in Southern California, Arizona, Mexico and living at 7500 feet in elevation in Colorado, my face had definitely seen much better days. After interviewing plastic surgeons in Los Angeles, Orange County and Phoenix, I settled upon Susan Kaweski MD in La Mesa CA. Her experience as a successful plastic surgeon over several decades, her personal and very professional demeanor, her patience in answering all of my questions, and the superb aftercare provided by her and her skilled staff were more than I believed possible. I look great, feel great and am so thankful for a job very well done.

I had a facelift performed by Dr. Kaweski five months ago, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! She truly created a "new me" while preserving my natural facial expressions—which was incredibly important to me. The best part is how natural it looks. I’ve been receiving so many compliments, and people are genuinely shocked when I tell them I’m 62. No one can believe it! Dr. Kaweski has an incredible team that took exceptional care of me throughout the entire process, especially during my follow-up appointments. Kim, the operations manager, was always on top of everything and patiently answered the hundreds of questions I had before and after the surgery. Her support gave me so much confidence and peace of mind. Like many people, I was nervous after surgery—especially when I saw the initial swelling. But just two weeks later, I started seeing the beautiful transformation and began truly enjoying my refreshed look. I’m so thankful I chose Dr. Kaweski as my surgeon. Special… thanks to Sarah as well, who provided amazing treatments to help with scarring and lymphatic drainage. Her care made a huge difference in reducing the swelling and improving my recovery. Overall, I couldn’t be happier. Dr. Kaweski and her team are simply the best. Yay!

Disheartening and Disfiguring Experience with Dr. Susan Kaweski WORST plastic surgeon EVER. I would give negative stars if that were possible. I underwent facial surgery with Dr. Susan Kaweski in December 2024, including a neck lift and tear trough fat grafting. The day after surgery, my left eye had a massive hematoma. Post-surgery, I developed pronounced "double rings" under my left eye when I smile--a disfigurement that has significantly impacted my self-esteem. My lower left eyelid is also permanently swollen. Despite multiple consultations, several reputable plastic surgeons have declined to take my case, citing the complexity and permanence of the issue. Additionally, the neck lift was left incomplete, with noticeable loose skin and an untreated platysmal band on the right side, undermining the procedure's intended results. During follow-up visits, Dr. Kaweski and her staff, particularly patient coordinator Kim Mulholland, and nurse Sarah Pence repeatedly suggested additional… and expensive treatments like PRP injections, asserting they would correct the under-eye issue. However, other plastic surgeons I have seen (including oculoplastic surgeons) have informed me that PRP (and PRFA) would be ineffective for my condition. When I expressed concerns about the additional costs, Kim remarked, "That's the price of beauty," a comment I found deeply insensitive given my distress. Further, Dr. Kaweski blamed ME for "being too skinny" and that she had trouble harvesting enough fat to put into my tear troughs. Well, she should have declined to do this surgery on me if she found that to be the case then. I sure do wish I stuck to under-eye fillers that I did successfully for 6 years - which can easily be reversed. Unfortunately, this horrible fat-grafting is irreversible. Dr. Kaweski is against under-eye fillers and assured me it was "healthier" to do fat grafting and that "I was going to love it." Well, I am not loving it. I share this experience to caution others to thoroughly research and seek multiple opinions before proceeding with this surgeon for similar procedures. It appears that symmetry is not Dr. Kaweski's strong suit with her results.
