Dr. Tahmineh Abbasian, MD

I am a project manager in a global fortune 500 company and was visiting my family in the chicago suburbs area when my 5 year old son was faced with a medical condition that required prompt attention of a pediatrician. It was not life threatening but couldn't wait long either. I have Aetna's POS II coverage to which this doctor's office was in the network. I called up the office only to be REFUSED an appointment with a reason that they do not accept patients who "do not have a long term relationship" and are just travelling. This was shocking to me as my primary concern was to get my child's condition diagnosed by a pediatrician. The lady who called herself "ROBIN" was VERY RUDE and does not seem to have any sympathy for a child's health. It was not like I was asking for free service. I had one of the best insurance plans and these guys were in the network. She did say she had multiple appointment openings with multiple doctors in the practice but turned me down. "I cannot do that".… "YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE YOUR SON SOMEWHERE ELSE" were her words. I am really upset and have already filed a grievance with Aetna and would also be seeking legal advice if I have to. I cannot comment on the doctor since I did not see her but the office staff was really bad and does not deserve to be serving the medical needs of the community.
