Dr. Tamas A. Gonda, MD

Dr. Gonda all but clinically abandons his patient's. My family member has been under this doctor's care for 8-days and I have seen her more times than he has (once). This doctor is trading on NYU Langone's name rather than his abilities--and it shows. It's embarrassing and unprofessional.

I'm having the same issues as everyone else is with him. I saw him in August 2022, at that appt he said that he would have his office call me to schedule me for an endoscopy and then crickets. I sent him a message only to be told by him to call his office. I guess he feels he's at the top of his game so he doesn't have to care about his patients or is it just certain ones? Very unprofessional and disinterested in my care so why would he be any different during a procedure? I'm cancelling my appt as well because this isn't how a professional should treat any patient. I'm not looking for a friend but I want to feel like i'm in good hands when having a procedure done.

Charming but he seemed pre-occupied and not interested. I cancelled my endoscopy with him because of his apparent disinterest and lack of follow up.

Im waiting to get an endoscopy from dr. Gonda rn and they got me all ready in a hospital gown and put an iv in but theres still someone infront of me who is also getting an endoscopy from dr.gonda. They have me sitting here with an iv in my arm for absolutely no reason. Dr gonda clearly has no respect for his patients time.

Disorganized to the extreme. Does not keep his word - then passes the blame on to his office manager. Tells patients that he will contact them with critical information in 3 days. Then it's silence for almost ten days, and then only addressed after the patient's endless & repetitive calls to his office. If he is this incompetent about something as basic as simple communication -- how would the relative-level of his diagnostic and surgical skills be? Not to mention that we caught him in a lie in his cheap and insulting attempt to explain away his egregious lack of communication with us, on a serious issue that is exceptionally time-sensitive. His credibility on every level with our family is zero. If you are smart -- you'll steer-clear of this clown.

i don't think he was really there when i had the test for the pancreas test...He lets young students do the endoscopy of the Pancreas...You felt like you were a number very cold and non-caring..never got a follow up for next appointment have to have done every year..i won't go back to him...i just hope nothing was missed because Pancreas Cancer is in my family...The recovery area was very dirty and the bathroom had no paper towels - the floor had throw up on it ...i could have tripped and one has to put their clothing on the dirty bathroom i described..with all that mess on the floor...The mess from a patient was thrown in there by a nurse I saw her do it..The waiting time before in the waiting room and while preparing for procedure was long...I had a bad experience at Columbia Pres. Hospital ...too dirty and run down...
