It has since been confirmed by the Mayo Clinic In Minnesota that not only do I NOT have IGA nephropathy my kidneys are not bleeding are in great shape! I’m so glad I got this second option! I have free hemaglobin in my urine and slight hemolysis due to my Ehlers Danlos.

I had my very long awaited appointment today with Tara Nelson. Prior to my appointment I have seen a urologist to rule out my bladder as the cause of my microscopic hematuria. I sat with Doctor Nelson who looked at one blood test and one urine sample who then told me I have IGA nephropathy. I explained to the doctor how I had became aware that I had the hematuria for 20 years and showed her many pictures of me very sick in the last 2 years, including a photo of my face 5 times its normal size when I got off a plane recently. I tried to explain to the doctor about my medical history so I could paint a more clear picture of my ongoing problem. The doctor failed to listen to me, to take any of the information I gave her into consideration and has diagnosed me with a condition associated with diabetes, which I do not have. It is upsetting to see a doctor come to a foregone conclusion without running any test or doing any review of my extensive medical history. No biopsy required -… see you in 6 months and if you dont like it get a second opinion. What if my kidneys are in fail right now? If my kidneys are in fail and the doctor has just sent me off on my way, how is she allowed to be a doctor? I have never had diabetes in my entire life and I have never been diagnosed with diabetes or anything close to it. It's a sad situation when a nephrologist somehow becomes stuck on diabetes and is unable to follow any other pathology.
