Dr. Tatyana Shkolnaya, MD

My now 2 year old daughter was born with a very serious condition at birth that is known to have future effects. We had an emergency situation and were advised by Monmouth Medical to contact our Pediatrician Dr. Shkolnaya and go for a visit in the event any suspected issues were to arise. When my daughter was experiencing issues, we called to make an emergency appointment and were refused service and Natasha the office admin was condescending, rude, and dismissive to my wife and acted as a gatekeeper to gain access to medical attention. Dr. Shkolynaya refused to even get on the phone to give her professional medical advice. It took 5 hours later and me screaming at them (appropriately) to get their attention. Dr. Shkolynaya was well aware that my daughter suffer from her condition and how fragile of a situation that could become and how deadly. Long story short, thank God we took my daughter to the Hospital in the meantime because she almost died of a Bowel Blockage. If we had… waited for Dr. Shkolynaya to finally respond to us, she could have... Shkolynaya's office never followed up whatsoever. When we returned home from what turned into an emergency surgery and a 2 week hospital stay on life support the entire time, my daughter was advised to see a pediatrician ASAP as a follow-up. Due to the lack of care and absolute inappropriate attitude we were met with, as well as the feedback we received from all sorts of medical professionals that our Pediatrician should have seen us immediately and at the absolute very least should have gotten on the phone personally... we had made our minds up to start seeing another pediatrician immediately. When my wife asked for my daughter's records (which are needed to transfer pediatricians) we were told with an authoritative attitude by Natasha that they "legally have up to 90 Days" to transfer them. Again, it took a week and a half later and screaming (appropriately) at them to get the records transfered so my daughter could get the care she direly needed from a real medical professional and we were again met with a tremendous attitude. I would have given zero stars if that was possible. If you hate your children and want them to be seen by a staff that has absolutely no care for them whatsoever, bring them here!! I hope they respond with their usual condescending attitude to this comment so I can get off the fence of whether or not I'm going to sue them. ??

Dr. Shkolnaya has treated both of our special needs children, one having multiple rare genetic disorders. She has saved my daughters life when other hospitals could not figure out whst was going on. She is the best competent doctor I have ever come across, as i have seen many many physicians. She takes her tkme wkth each and everyone of her patients. A rare breed indeed. You will mot be disappointed. Her staff, Natasha office manager is prompt and precise.

Dr. Shkolnaya is a great combination of knowledge & compassion. She and her staff are great!

We went to a few other pediatricians before finding Dr. Shkolnaya. She is simply wonderful. She is not quick to prescribe unnecessary medications and will often suggest more holistic relief for symptoms. Of course when medication is necessary she knows and appropriately prescribes something, and I trust her when this is the case.

She is very thorough and explains everything to the parents.

We saw 4 other pediatricians before we settled on Dr. Shkolnaya. My child was sick w/ a fever for 2 weeks. I took her to see 3 pediatricians including a pediatric doctor in the emergency room. They all diagnosed her as having a virus. Not until Dr. Shkolnaya did any of them bother to take any tests to diagnose and treat her properly. Dr. Shkolnaya diagnosed my child within 15 minutes of our first visit. Also, Dr. Shkolnaya takes the time to listen to our concerns and respects our choices. This is very hard to find in a doctor. We couldn't be happier to have found her to care for our child's medical needs.
