Dr. Teena John, MD

Teena John and her direct colleagues are absolutely despicable. I am understanding of the state that the medical field is in with promoting their vaccinations, but she takes it to a whole new level. If your child is vaccinated, wonderful, they will have her care (although through another vaccine I'm sure - as she tells the story of holding the RSV vaccine in her hands at a medical convention and how she was bawling because she was realizing, "How many lives this was going to save," then will go on to tell you that you need to make the decision to give on the RSV vaccine asap because there are only 10 left. And, once they run out, they are unsure of when they will get the next doses because of "how popular" the vaccine is). Her colleagues are highly unprofessional, and the moment you make a declination toward the vaccines that they try to force on you, they immediately change their tone and demeanor. They dehumanize people if they don't consent to the vaccines that they are promoting.… My family has chosen not to give the full vaccine schedule to our children (mind you, we are not anti-vaccine. We have had our children vaccinated with the vaccines that we have consulted with other esteemed and accredited doctors in the medical field and felt were in the best interest of our children). My four-month-old is sick and we took him to Teena's office today. They took his vitals, looked at his charts, and then asked if he had ever seen another professional in the medical field that is against the vaccine schedule. When we state that we had met with them, they immediately stopped the appointment and refused to meet with us (that's your prerogative, as your institution will not meet with children who are not fully vaccinated on the vaccine schedule that your institution wants). As this frustrates me, this is not the cause for me writing this review. The cause of me writing this review, is the repeated derogatory treatment that comes from Teena and her colleagues if you are not vaccinated. My wife, hysterical from her four-month-old who is suffering from illness, and now rejected by a bunch of mothers [doctors and nurses] because they care more about the vaccine schedule than they do humans, walked out in tears and was treated with the utmost disrespect. One of the nurses, in this moment, had the audacity to state to her, "Just so you know, your other three kids are not able to come here until they are fully vaccinated, too." Highly inhumane, and highly unprofessional - even in lieu of them trying to uphold their policy of not meeting with children who are not aligned with the vaccine schedule. We have never had a pleasant experience with Teena or her colleagues, and that is even including when our other children were current with the vaccine schedule. I would avoid Teena's office, and would hope that her Director, Melissa, would sit down to understand the situation, so that the medical field can advance in a more humane and professional way. The medical field and healthcare system is broken, and the type of policies and interaction from Teena's office is the reason for it.

Dr. Teena John is very caring, compassionate, understanding. She takes her time in the room with her patients and answers any questions. Her exams are very thorough and she never does unnecessary testing. Dr. John and her staff are always accommodating. If she isn’t available then she makes sure one of her nurse practitioners are to provide care. Dr. John has even been known to call her patients to discuss results or check on them over the weekends. Not many doctors will personally call their patients. Her nurses are kind and energetic and her phone nurses are always quick to return phone calls. I recommend Dr. Teena John to all new parents as she is the best pediatrician in the Springfield area!

Dr. Teena John and her husband, Dr. Ashish John, have provided care for our daughter since her birth. She is now nearly two years old and in addition to well-child checks has been treated for many of the typical childhood illnesses along with some symptoms/conditions that required more in-depth follow-up and/or referral. I am in the healthcare field and have had only the highest expectations for care provided for my child. That being said, the quality of care provided by Dr. John is EXCELLENT. In addition to ease in scheduling and ability to obtain a same-day appointment with the physician, the office is clean and offers a sick-child and well-child area. More importantly, Dr. John has the unique ability to relate to her patients and the patientâ??s family as she displays a compassionate and empathetic attitude with each encounter. She is wonderful with children and can easily gain the trust and cooperation of even the most difficult of toddler patients. She completes a thorough… history and physical exam at each visit, and walks the patient and family through her clinical reasoning and care-plan development process. Her assessment/diagnoses have been nothing short of completely accurate. She answers questions in a complete and thorough manner, and always takes the parentsâ?? preferences, opinions, and special circumstances into consideration. She is very thorough with testing and referrals, but as she analyzes the benefit/risk, she does not put the patient & family through what could be considered unnecessary testing. In short, she treats the patient in such a manner that she would want her child treated. She takes the care of each patient very personally, and it is obvious that she has a genuine interest in the health and well-being of each child. It is in these ways that Dr. John gains the trust of the patientâ??s family, which is critical when the care of a young child is involved. Both of my parents and my mother-in-law have accompanied me to appointments, and have shared their impression of the excellent standard of care provided by Dr. John to my daughter. I could go on and on about the AMAZING approach to caring taken by Dr. John, but if I was to sum up our experience in three words, I would choose: TRUST, COMPASSION, and QUALITY medical care. I am extremely satisfied with our pediatrician and would confidently recommend Dr. John to anyone.

My boys love Dr. John. Like the other review, Dr. John called my cell phone on a Friday night just to make sure I got her previous message that me left on my voicemail and to make sure my son was doing okay. She really cares!

These days it's hard to find a great Doctor.....well Dr. Teen John is the doctor for you. You won't be sorry. She is simply amazing. She also has fantastic nurses. You can't go wrong.

I tell everyone I can how wonderful Dr. Teena John is. I have 3 children all with minor health issues (my daugher has ADD and my son has autism). She has always gone above and beyond when it comes to caring for them. She is such a loving Dr. and cares so much about others. My kids love her and look forward to going to see her. She has the best nurses on staff. When my kids are sick and I have to call in there and leave a message I get a call in a fast manor. To give you a example of how great she is, one day all 3 of my kids were really sick and I had been in and out of the office all week. Well on a friday evening I revcieved a phone call from Dr. John herself checking up on my kids. She wanted to make sure they were doing ok. Let me ask you has any of your dr's ever done that for you? I know none of mine have. I really don't have anything bad to say about Dr. Teena John and her nurses. He husband is also a Dr and he is VERY good also. If you are in need of a great Dr...Dr. Teena… John is for you.

Dr. Chiramel-John is thorough and compassionate. I highly recomend her. Her caring nature is perfect for pediatrics.
