Dr. Terry Kent Ganocy, MD

Dr. Ganocy was initially a jerk, but was a great surgeon. Had two microdiscectomies with him in 2013 and 2016 and will be forever grateful. May he rest in peace.

I underwent surgery in 2011. The fusion was L3 to S1. He was going to go through my stomach first and then to me over and do the back. He changed his mind while he was in surgery and didn’t go in through the back. Sciatica wasn’t addressed. It is now 2019 and the screws are coming I’m done and It is not fully fused in that area. The surgeon now said he should have secured it from the back. Definitely a little scary. Still in a lot of back pain.

I suffered with multiple herniated discs in my lower back for years. I couldn't stand for very long and had radiculopathy in my left leg when I did. I tried conservative treatments - mainly steroid epidural injections - for several years, and they helped, but when they stopped working, I knew it was time for surgery. Dr. Ganocy did an L5-S1 spinal fusion on me, and (after a year's recovery) the result has been excellent. My back pain is completely gone, as is the leg pain. Dr. Ganocy is truly a kind, caring and, most importantly, very skilled and competent orthopedic surgeon.

My review was from May 2013 where I stated I will not be going back. I ended up going back because he is a wonderful surgeon. I had my back surgery to remove one of my 3 herniated discs and now I no longer have pinched nerves in my legs.

I waited months to get this appointment and it is a nightmare reaching his office. When I finally got to my appointment, I saw the Dr. for a total of 5 minutes, 2 of which is was out in the hall on a phone call. He was not helpful at all, my Mom was trying to ask him to tell me the risks of being overweight and having spinal surgery and he just sat there and really didn't care about me or my issues. If I can avoid it, I will never return to this Doctor. Just a terrible experience altogether.

I would like to thank Dr. Ganocy for a very successful surgical outcome. He performed a lumbar spinal fusion almost a year ago which has changed my life. When I saw him preop I was suffering from tremendous back, buttock and leg pain. I also had numbness in my foot. I was limping and needed a cane for stability. Now, I am nearly pain-free in my back and have no pain or numbness in my leg and foot. I have returned to my normal activities including exercising on the treadmill and biking. He truly gave me my life back. I would recommend him highly.

Dr Ganocy is a caring, highly competent spinal surgeon. He was concerned and. explained the procedure in clear and concise terms. His skill resolved my spinal problems. I would proudly recommend him to anyone who asks.
