Dr. Benfield literally saved my life! If it was not for him I am convinced I would not be here today. After being under the care of the cities top Psychiatrists I only found relief and wellness under Dr. B. His warm personality and exceptional knowledge of medications makes him the Doctor to see! Many years ago, Dr Benfield treated me. Analysis for 6 years. I noticed that someone commented that Dr. Benfield had prescribed a benzodiazepine drug for a prolonged time. In the 6 years that Dr Benfield treated me, he had only once prescribed a benzodiazepine drug for a brief period of time, 10 days. And that was due to a difficult period of time, the death of my father at age 56. Once when I was getting too thin, he prescribed an anti-depressant that I was unable to tolerate side effects and discontinued after a couple of days. Therapy consisted of just talking to him. He must have known what he was doing because I became a confident and well adjusted person over those six years.

I was one of Dr Benfield's first patients 37 years ago. And to this day I still think of him He took me from being frozen with fear and anxiety to becoming a confident woman He never used medication. He just listened to me. I beleve he cared about me. He's a very kind man and an outstanding Doctor

Took me a long time thinking about writing this but he started me on the most potent benzodiazapene about 16 years ago and I didnt know better. Trying to get off that pill has destroyed my life. I wonder if Psych doctors actually know the horror stories of people coming off many psychiatric meds and if they do why are they prescribing them

Dr. Benfield is a warm and caring man and this translates to his manner. He is both informed and quite creative with medication and individual needs. With me, he was also very open minded as I found that lower dosages were effective and he supported my beliefs. Other doctors have been rigid or close minded about treatment. He is quite gregarious, so someone would have to be comfortable with that.
