Dr. Thomas James Carzoli, MD

In my opinion, this man should not be practicing medicine. During my pregnancy, I had gestational diabetes, yet he never addressed or discussed it with me. I ultimately had to request a gestational diabetes test myself because I knew something wasn’t right. My blood sugar levels were extremely high, and my son weighed over 10 pounds when he was born. I was young and didn’t know what questions to ask or how to advocate for myself. I trusted my doctor to recognize potential problems, properly monitor my pregnancy, and take appropriate care of both me and my unborn child. Looking back, I can’t help but wonder how different things might have been if I had received the care and attention I trusted my doctor to provide. That experience has stayed with me, and it is why I feel strongly that patients deserve doctors who listen, investigate concerns, and take their responsibilities seriously.

I dated Tom in 1980, and attended his great parties. He was 32; I was 21--a senior at USC. He had a red Ferrari and a red Nissan 280Z. He chose the best restaurants, and ordered the best wines. He was extremely polite--a perfect gentleman. Never tried to touch me inappropriately. I met him when I scheduled a gynecological exam with him...didn't know anything about him. He called me the next week, and invited me to one of his nice gatherings. He is a good person.

I saw Dr Carzoli in 1987 for my first pregnancy. First of all I had gestational diabetes and my sugar was constantly 270-280 I was never referred to a doctor for it just a nutritionist. I was in labor all day and the nurses kept trying to get him to come and see me. That never happened. I was getting ready to start my 40th hour of labor and he finally showed up. He took my husband out in the hallway and said your wife is having a big baby and I’m not talking about 9 or 10 pounds but bigger. I had to have an emergency c section and my baby weighed 7 lbs and 11.7 ounces. I lost 44 pounds of fluid overnight. I stayed so swollen that the only shoes that I could wear were the largest men’s flip flops that the store sold. He never showed any concern for me and very seldom measured me. I was a young mother to be and went to see him on the review of his credentials. If I had known that he was firstly an abortion doctor I would have never gone to see him. I never even went back for him to do my… 6 weeks check up after I had my baby. DO NOT EVER GO TO SEE THIS ANIMAL!! He’s more concerned with his surgery patients than his obstetric patients. On Feb 7, 1977 @ 5:57 a.m. Dr. Carzoli delivered my first son. I was 22 years old. He was SO Nice, so young and so cute. What I won't forget is the episiotomy was cruel and sitz bath & Tucks for weeks was the pits. But I'll never forget this doctor, here, Dr. Thomas James Carzoli, This name is forever sealed as the certifier of my Son's Birth, Thank You!

Best OBGYN in Columbia South Carolina ever. Doctor Corzoli deliver in all of my children except for Number four because that was around the time to practice with handed over to Kramer. I’m not sure where these reviews are coming from the bad ones because this man was awesome with me. Here I am pregnant again wishing that he was delivering babies, because he would definitely be delivering my fifth child. He had the greatest nurse Tamala I really really miss Dr. Corzoli but the most beautiful gift is my beautiful children who is very healthy that he delivered. And every once in a while, I can be at a store and he pops up and I’m always telling him how much I miss him delivering babies. This guy is awesome so for all of the negative comments, I’m not sure what Doctor you saw that it was not Doctor Carzoli.

A few years ago, my wife on her first child was in labor for 8 hours. The 8th hour came at 9pm on a Friday night and he wanted to go home. He intended to do a C-Section so he could go enjoy his evening. How do I know? He said so. We had to repeatedly decline, and he was unapologetically angry about it. Thank God we had a nurse on our side (an angel), and advised us when he was away. I had to step out of the room to make some calls and when I returned he was berating my wife about the "need" for a C-Section and how the baby was going to die if she didn't do it. She was in tears, vulnerable, and bullied by this jerk. When I arrived, he continued and it almost came to a physical fight with him. The only reason I didn't knock him out was my wife needed a doctor to deliver the baby, it wasn't the time. I cannot describe the emotional weight that came with his threats and tactics. The most joyous arrival of our first born was ruined by his behavior and rotten personality. Three hours later,… my daughter is ready and Dr. Carzoli told us she wasn't going to come out, that he needed to break both of her shoulders, leaving permanent nerve damage as the result of no C-Section. Within one minute of being in the room without evaluation! He then immediately performed an epistiotomy without notification or consent. The birth came without complications (the nurses were all over him about it). Now, I cannot prove this, but I believe he intentionally repaired the episiotomy incorrectly and my wife has suffered for it. Second child did not require one. He arrogantly guessed the weight of my daughter afterwards, and said he was never wrong. But...he just was wrong about my daughter? We never saw him again. I wouldn't recommend this guy to my worst enemy.

I was induced 2x. Before the 2nd I told staff I thought the baby turned & they blew me off. I ended up with a c section in which my son came out breach. I also have a tilted pelvis and never should have been induced. He acts like he knows everything and the patient knows nothing. Good call on those inductions! Not

I made an appointment with Dr. Carzoli for a second opinion and have now transferred my records to his office. He is wonderful as well as the staff!!
