Dr. Thomas Giancarlo, DO

Won't doubt he treats his employees very poorly.

I came to this ‘ neurologist ‘ looking for help with severe LYME induced cognitive and physical issues. I came with over ten years of medical documentation stating this. He humiliated me by denying LYME disease as “All in my head”. My family encouraged me to not go back after 16 months of denying me proper help due to his limitations and inexperience with the epidemic of Tick born illnesses growing in Michigan. If you have LYME induced arthritis, migraines or loss of limb function due to an autoimmune disease like LYME, you would do better seeking help elsewhere.

This guys the worst. Treated my Mom terribly and made her cry at every appt. Didn’t have any advice we could use to make her symptoms bearable, just has a very thick prescription pad and not a lot of answers. Will not return and wouldn’t recommend!

I have only Great things to say about Michigan Neurology and Dr Thomas Giancarlo and his staff. If it were not for their diagnosis of my problems, I do not know what I would have done.

Not sure this Doctor has any interest in patients getting well. Seems arrogant and money driven...almost angry you’ve bothered him. BAD!

You wait forever to be called in for your appointment. Once the PA comes in, they sit directly in front of the computer. They never physically touch you. They ask questions & put your answers in the computer. That's it... Only saw Dr. Giancarlo once. No changes in treatment even when you say, you're not feeling any different!

Terrible attitude that made me uncomfortable and sorry that I’d waited over an hour for the privilege of his curmudgeonly presence. I felt he has a hateful presence and wished he were anywhere but there.

Dr Giancarlo is stretched too far with too many irons in the pot. He rushed through a back steroidal injection that left me deathly sick and worse off and in more pain than before. He does not suggest alternative or natural procedures or medicines. It feels like going through an assembly line at his office there is a lack of personal commitment especially when dealing with the elderly Sometimes there are long waits at his building where you are left with a physician's assistant most of the time and are rushed through

The first time I was there the office forgot that I was even in the room for over 2 hours and then Dr. Giancarlo did not stay very long with me when my first visit for my aneurysms after that I was tossed around to several other different doctors never saw him after that I will never go back there and do not recommend.

After 7 years and 2 neurologists, 2 pain management doctors I can't take any more mistreatment. I saw doctor Giancarlo at the St. Clair Shores office. He is arrogant, condescending and all the things you don't want in a doctor. I used to make my appts for 10 am to be his first patient of the day but he didn't arrive until noon. What kind of professional does that? I switched to another neurologist was satisfied until the end of 2017. I've decided to leave the practice. The reason I am writing a review under this doctor is that Dr. Giancarlo is the owner of the practice. Ultimately, he is responsible for all things that happen...the patient care, office staff (and they are horrible). I was going to list the problems I've had but there is too many. It's like the quote "the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing"but, add "and the left hand doesn't care what it or the right hand is doing". Too bad Dr. Giancarlo didn't read some of these reviews and make improvements within the… practice.
