Throughout his career, Dr. Rickner has been at the cutting edge of Urology in many areas. Thus, as would be expected, he does vasectomies using both no-scalpel and no-needle techniques. Oral sedation is available as needed. Your pre-vasectomy visit includes explaining the anatomy, discussing the procedure itself, and answering questions with as much detail as you wish. All of this is meant to diminish any apprehension you may have about having a vasectomy. Your wife or significant other is welcome to the pre-vasectomy visit as well as to accompany you at the time of the procedure. An area is available for your children to play or read should you desire to bring them along. Our goal during your entire experience in having a vasectomy performed is for it to proceed with as little stress as possible. The necessity for follow-up will always be emphasized.
