Dr. Thomas Wayne Day, MD

My father-in-law is 91 years old and had cancer on his ear. We were so impressed with Dr Day’s care for him that I decided to go to him for some places on my back. He was so kind and walked me through their removal. This kind manner means a lot to an older person; and to be blessed with the ability to help others, what a gift God has given this man.

He knew what my issue was and right away told me what meds I needed.

I saw Dr. Day today as a new patient. I have been to several dermatologist over the past 30 yrs. and Dr. Day, far surpassed them all !! He put me at ease, immediately, and cut right to the chase and was very confident in his exam and treatment; which by the way, involved a 5 minute, non-invasive procedure rather than the previous recommended scalpel treatment. He was very easy to communicate with ; especially with my complicated history, and listened. So, Thank You , Dr. Day and staff; for making my appointment today, the only one I've had in years that went smoothly and without incident !! I would highly recommend Dr. Day to anyone needing a great Dermatologist; and lets face it, we all do !!!

I felt like Dr. Day was interested in me and getting to the bottom of my problem. I have had problems with my hands in the last few months and hands were in awful shape. He recommended some different cleansing products and did a patch test. I am optimistic that my problems will be lessened in the future if I avoid the allergens.

Dr. Day has been my family's dermatologist for many years, however, this was my second visit as a patient. What started out as a painless pale mole in appearance, in my scalp several years ago, turned out to be a Basal Cell Carcinoma. Dr. Day performed a biopsy on my first visit and sent to the lab for testing. I received a phone call about a week later stating that it was indeed a Basal Cell Caricinoma, which is a form of skin cancer. This is rare and unusual for African Americans. A date was scheduled within a week to have it removed by performing the Moh's Surgery. I was a bit nervous, but Dr. Day and his assistant made me feel very comfortable and put my worries to ease. He is very professional and adds humor to his visits, which goes a long way when your nerves are a bit frazzled. The procedure was basically painless, just a little sting from the numbing injection. They didn't even have to shave any of my hair (yeah). I am very pleased with the level of care and concern I… received from Dr. Day.

Excellent copassionate doctor!!!! He was assuring kind and painless. He used " vibration sedation" which I had never heard about. He will be the new dermatologist for me and my family.

This guy is the best ! I have been to others and he figured out what they couldn't and the visit was pleasant...I wanted to stay and chat ! A tad longer than avg wait....but Dr Day is THE BEST !

In about 1995, I began to have very itchy dry hands accompanied by a red rash under the skin. I went to a few dermatologists, one who did a biopsy, (cut out a piece of flesh from one of my hands in the fleshy part of the palm in the thumb area.) It was sent to a lab controlled by the insurance carrier I had at the time, which came back as skin cancer. The Dermatologist felt sure that that diagnosis was wrong, so he did it again, and studied it at his own lab. He diagnosed it as exema. Then began the expensive creams which helped some, but none with any lasting relief. and the itchyness and rash remained. My skin got so dry it would crack open, which to say the least was very painful. It's hard to do work with your hands when they are in so much pain.. it was torture. All this went on until around 2010 when I first went to see Dr. Day at Bellmeade Dermatology. At first, he prescribed some topical creme to use before bed time. And, like some of the others, it did help, but it… would always come back. He did some allergy tests, to determine what I might be allergic to. All of that was negative. At about the third trip to see Dr. Day, he said, we may have to resort to something to take internally, but before we do that, there is one thing we could try that some people believe is the "silver bullet". The silver bullet was Vectical. My hands cleared up, and a tube of Vectical lasts almost a year. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Day for putting me out of my misery.
