Dr. Timothy Melvin Mckenna, DO

A first surgeon (S.Hanses) removed cancer from my breast & did not put a drain tube in. I developed Hematoma 4 weeks later, & blood backed up so bad in my breast that a lump appeared & burst open, blood drained for over a month. The wound turned black on a weekend & I alternated Hydrogen Peroxide & Honey to finally get it better . I met with Hanses & she said it will drain for about another month & left it at that. I complained of armpit pain & she she she nicked a nerve, like it was nothing important. She refused to send my records to the Cancer Center after I kept asking her to. I called Sparrow Hospital staff & asked if they could get involved so i can transfer my care to them. I finally got to go to Dr Mckenna at the Cancer Center (thank goodness) & he did a 2nd surgery & drained & cleaned out the breast. I felt good after the surgery. The next day, 'I felt amazing', like I was a new person (seriously) & I was up & active. GREAT JOB DR. MCKENNA! THANKS. He was very professional. I… only had a problem with Sparrow hospital staff, they could not get the IV needle into a vein after '2 extremely painful' tries (the minus 1 star)... Dr M. had to come & do it himself! And metal parts of the hospital bed fell off & banged to the floor. That made me a bit nervous, lol. I give Dr McKenna a top rating!

Dr did not have female nurse present when he did a breast exam, he did not explain procedure or what to do or expect after surgery, he gave different care instructions than his office staff, did not seem to care about an infection after surgery.
