Dr. Todd Andrew Hayes, DO

First appointment with this doctor went south faster than you can even imagine. Like other patients , I had a long history that lead me to seeing him at this appointment. The symptoms are varied and have been witnessed by others including other professionals. Dr Hayes seemed to not want to hear anything I had to say and at one point interrupted me - shutting me down so that he could take over the appointment. I think that was the issue from the beginning - I’m used to having a professional relationship with my providers where we collaborate and mutually deal with symptoms and diagnoses and treatments as a team. I’m not sure if this provider was just having a bad day but my experience seems to be consistent with what other patients are saying in their reviews. I went looking for answers to what’s been happening with me and left feeling discouraged and disappointed I wish I’d looked at the online reviews before the first appointment. My advise - read the reviews carefully - one… comment might be the result of a disgruntled patient but trends in the comments are trends and should be a clue - I won’t be going back and am now back to square one looking for a neurologist who will listen to the patient ( as a start) and one that does not come across as both rude and disinterested.

he seemed to just genuinely not care. I kept having issues and he just referred me elsewhere. Seemed like he just wanted to be in and out with zero care of what happens to his patients. I messaged him through their website and he didn’t even bother getting back to me.

This DO (which is not an MD) has the worst bedside manner I have seen in any specialty, interrupts you mid sentence while talking, does not listen to what you have tried for the problem you are seeing him for nor does he care what you think could be a cause of the problem. Felt very rushed and stated he could not help if I were not able to afford the two very expensive medications that he was recommending and that I would just have to make what did not help me work!! I could not believe what I was hearing him say to a patient coming to him for help. He needs to get out of the medical field completely. Please, do yourself a favor and travel far to see someone else if you are able.

Very first time visiting this doctor after seeing multiple doctors and just wanted some answers for my pain and the things that have been going on with me. Since it was the first time of us meeting I wanted to give the doctor a brief description of what's been going on from the last several years only because I thought it was important for him to know the background and how I felt as if my symptoms were interconnected. Todd Hayes simply told me that he did not want to know about the past things but only wanted to know what I was there for that day; he made me feel very rushed in trying to describe things to him. He even was cutting me off while talking. I just felt like another patient with issues that he did not want to deal with. I even told him several times during our visit that I did not think that we were communicating effectively. Even after all that he actually asked me if I have any mental issues or suffered from depression because I was questioning things that he was… talking about. I was extremely insulted and disappointed with the level of insensitivity. To say that I had some type of mental issue because I was frustrated and felt as if I was at my wits end with being in pain.??? Then on my following appointment (testing from the last appointment), the first portion of my testing was performed by a nurse and she gave he results to Todd Hayes... Before they returned into the room I overheard their conversation outside the room and Hayes saying "there's nothing wrong with her", now they could have possibly been talking about another patient or another person but I do not believe that was the case (but possible). Todd then came in and performed the second portion of the testing and he concluded that he did not find anything wrong with my nerves (which in all honesty is a good thing, but that still means that I still have no answer to my unexplained pain). So I asked him "so am I making this all up in my head or is this all mental?", his answer was,"quite possibly". I know my body and never once asked about medication or a shot to fix me. All I have ever been seeking for the last three months is a proper diagnosis so I don't have to be in pain anymore or however to manage whatever it is that I am going through. This guy had no type feeling or compassion for me as a person or my overall well being. Screw him and you can guarantee that I will never step a foot in his office again and whoever I know I will definitely express to them my experiences with this so called doctor!
