Dr. Todd Lovgren, MD

It’s been nearly 5 years since I met Dr. Lovgren. We found out that our baby would be born with a Congenital Heart Defect ??He was the first doctor I remember meeting after the diagnosis, and I will never forget his patience, understanding, and compassion. I saw him every week for the remaining 20 weeks of my pregnancy, and he never failed to make me smile and feel comforted during the most difficult time of my life. After our baby boy was born, we were handed off to the next set of doctors. The next day Dr. Lovgren showed up to check on us and our baby boy!! He wasn’t on duty, but he cared and checked on us. He is the best!!!

I was referred to Dr. Lovgren by a co-worker and could not have been more pleased with our experience!! You will never meet a more compassionate or dedicated doctor! He gave me his personal number that I could text at all hours with any question this paranoid mama had and would always reply very quickly to ease my mind! He was very supportive and comforting during the C section and he even visited the babies in the NICU to check in on them!! He will always hold a special place in our hearts and we will be forever grateful for his care!

Dr. Lovgren truly cares about his patients, and goes above and beyond his job to take care of his patients. After seeing him for our second child (a high risk pregnancy), I knew as soon as I found out we were pregnant with our third, I was calling him! My third pregnancy was very normal and he still agreed to see me. Thank you Dr. Lovgren for being such a great Dr. and truly caring about your patients and their babies!

Dr. lovgren was very compassionate and knowledgeable. I had a high risk pregnancy and was very scared. Dr. Lovgren gave me the knowledge to make an informed decision. He also held my hand and told me I would get through this. His actions helped me to calm down and focus on my baby. Thank you.

I cannot say enough how much of a blessing it was to have Dr. Lovegren as our perinatologist. We found out at 23 weeks that our baby had a congenital heart defect. Our appointment was on a Fri afternoon with the OBGYN. Dr. Lovegren saw us that afternoon so we would not have to wait all weekend. He sat with us that day and answered every single question without rushing us or making us feel stupid. He was compassionate yet honest. I saw him at least every other week the remainder of the pregnancy, and it was clear that he truly cared about our baby. I cannot explain all of the ways that he managed to comfort me in those seemingly endless appointments, but I do remember meeting with him after a particularly difficult appointment at Children's hospital where they diagnosed the baby with additional defects. He sat with me and explain everything again and drew pictures to make sure I really understood what he was talking about. He never talked "above" me or sugar coated what he… expected but gave me hope. When our baby was born, he was taken immediately to Children's and I was soon transferred to be with him. I was absolutely amazed when Dr. Lovegren stopped by the next day (a Sat!) just to see how the baby and I were doing. He continued to check in to see how he was doing during his time in NICU and after his surgery. I sincerely think anyone that gets to have Dr. Lovegren is in great hands. He told me during our first appointment that he understood how it was to be in my shoes (see his bio on the Methodist page) and his tenderness and kindness throughout my experience definitely demonstrated that understanding.

I chose Dr. Lovgren as my perinatologist from his "interesting anecdote" he wrote on Methodist web page. Him and his spouse went through a stillbirth of a baby, just as my spouse and I had. I knew he was the one I needed to go to for my most recent pregnancy. He was with me throughout the entire pregnancy and delivery. He explained everything and has wonderful bedside manner. He cried right along with me while telling him my story of our stillborn baby girl. He calls and really cares about me and my newborn son.

Dr. Lovgren and his team detected a problem with my baby accurately and promptly. We were able to take the necessary steps to save her life. He also has great bedside manner and is very friendly and nice.
