Dr. Travis James Demik, MD

Dr. DeMik is a kind and caring doctor that helped me through a difficult pregnancy. I had a placental abruption during emergency c-section 6 weeks early and have no complications and no scar. I was asymptomatic and had no idea why my blood pressure was so high. If he wasn't so cautious and admitted me to the hospital that day I could have had a stroke. I have been going to him for over 7 years and will continue to go to him at whatever practice he is at.

He is simple the best. My twins saw the world 30 seconds apart. I had a planing C section. Everything went smooth and didn't have any problems after. Plus he is always so positive and open! Will not stop to recommend Travis for all delivery!

I have been on the depo shot for many years. When I saw De Mik, he chastised me for selecting depo as a form of birth control. He said it was an antiquated method and it makes one gain weight (I suppose he thought that would convince me to change). He recommended the IUD by Mirena. I said I wanted to think about it and would continue with depo for now. Eight months later he refused to renew my prescription for depo because “he just didn’t think it was a good choice” for birth control. This MAN unilaterally denied me birth control unless I went with the one he recommended! Last I checked women still have the right to make decisions about their own body! But apparently De Mik doesn’t support that! How much you want to be he gets a kickback for every Mirena he sells! Avoid this awful doctor at all cost!!!

Dr. DeMik delivered my first baby. He listened to us, took the time to answer our questions, and ensured that we felt cared for. We told him it was important to us that I have an epidural fairly early on, and that I wanted a vaginal birth. He agreed and made sure he did everything he could to stick to our plan. I was very pleased with his attentiveness and care. I pushed for a couple hours, and I believe it's because of his patience during that time that I didn't have any tears. During my entire labor (I was induced) he checked in regularly and though I know he was busy that day, he made time to talk with us and make sure we were okay. I hadn't met Dr. DeMik until I went to the hospital to be induced, but I'm very glad it was him. I had a great birth experience at Sibley with Dr. DeMik.
