Dr. Ty Lee Schwertfeger, MD

Went in for electrical shocks down my neck and spine. First time I saw him said he couldn’t do anything because my meds could cause it. Quit all meds. Problems continued and gotten worse. Went in 2 years later for same thing and he does a nerve conduction test and says I have carpel tunnel. Told my doctor I didn’t want to see him again and was told since I saw him in past 3 years I couldn’t see a different doc.

Basically, between his N.P. KRISTEN and Dr., they blew off my non-responsive migraines, which I have had since a car accident in 1994. HE does not see patients more than 1x per year. Other visits are with N.P. She had never heard of the new injectable treatments for migraine, but told me that whatever it was, I did not qualify for use because I have had a TIA. This is not true! SO INEXCUSABLE FOR A NEUROLOGISTS OFFICE! Finally got the injectable through my Internal Medicine provider. Transferred my Neuro treatment to a different neurologist. Very satisfied with him!

Dr. S helped narrow down the likely causes of my increasing migraines, following several test results. He tried prospective meds on me, determining which would work best in combination with my other meds for unrelated health problems. We quickly came to a conclusion and I have reduced frequency of migraines by roughly 70%. Recommend highly.

Didn’t even want to take the time to allow me to tell him of all of my past head injuries or seizures. Didn’t want to do a follow up MRI on the stroke I had. A stupid exam and I was dismissed. I know neurologist because I’m a nurse and my husband had Parkinson’s disease for sixteen years. This man needs to retire.

I was impressed to talk to DR. Schwertfeger during my admission at Kansas Heart Medical Center where I received my A-ICD

I felt like he did not listen to me. I tried to tell him about what was going on and since I told him I took an anxiety med he put me in a box. He said because he could not find anything else wrong with me that it was due to STRESS. I have had speech problems and motor skill problems since everything started and have had a MRI and CT. Don't you think you might want to do a little more research before just leaving me hanging?

He didn't ask how I was doing and disputed all other doctors' diagnosis

I couldn't be more pleased with the care and concern I receive from the doctors and other staff members at Neurology Consultants.

Other neurologists depend on Physician's assistants but here it seems she is more my neurologist than Dr. Schertfeger. It was over a year in between before actually seeing him again despite complaining of the same problems in repeat visits with the physician's assistant. When one gets to see him, he takes a lot of time with his patients and has a good bedside manner.

I could not ask for a better Dr. Schwertfrger. He has always listen to me , he worked with me so I would get well. Very friendly and the staff has always been kind too. Thanks you for helping me. I am a whole lot better than the first visit.
