Dr. Ulrike Benny, MD

All the other drs at this facility are fantastic! LOVE Dr. Jennifer Thompson and many others. Dr. Benny is not a very good one though. She has no bed side manners and only seemed condescending and wasn’t concerned about why we were there and more concerned about telling us we should be wearing a mask. She seemed unhappy the moment she entered the room and very unhelpful on what we could do to make our daughter feel more comfortable. Refused to test our daughter for anything and told us to “call our insurance company”. Make us question why we even came

Being a parent, I keep my child's abnormal symptoms carefully on a booklet as child's health diary, recording the starting date, time, discomfort level, duration, frequencies, temperature, all details, and then bring the recording book and a list of questions to see Dr. Benny. Dr. Benny is a very sharp, observant, organized, parent-and-child friendly, and professional. I like her direct and straightforward questions and advice which can pinpoint at the blind spot that a parent might easily overlook. Every visit my daughter and I learned something new when we stepped out of her clinic. My daughter loves to see her all the time. I remembered, 4 years ago, Dr. Benny even called our house at dinner time to make sure she herself, not through staffs, to reach us in person about a referral issue. I was moved and grateful by her devoted caring nature for all kids.

My first experience taking my 2yo to see Dr. Benny was absolutely horrible. We had to wait for over 30 minutes, so I had given my phone to my child (which is not a common thing for us). During the first visit, I asked about a referral to a speech therapist, in which she refused to do so and told me that I needed to take away screen time and work with my child instead. This is something that we do, and again was a rarity that he even had screen time, but due to wait time. She then began going over the history, and hounded me as to why I had a c-setion, and acted as if I was completely wrong for doing so. It was very apparent that she was against it, even though there were medical reasons, in which I felt extremely judged. When asking about my son's ear tubes, she informed me that she could not see 3D, so she did not know if they were connected or not. She would not give me additional information or tell me what needed to be done. Everything I asked about was not addressed, and I was… made to feel very beneath her. She was also not warm or interactive with my son. The next visit, I requested a different doctor, and it was a great visit. I had to bring my son in for a sick visit, and I did not think to ask which doctor we would be seeing. They put us with Dr. Benny again, and it was yet another problematic visit. She informed me that she did not know what was causing the issue that I had brought him in for, that she had never seen anything like it before, so she was going to pretend it wasn't there. Therefore, the issue at hand was not addressed, regardless of my concern. My son's speech is not that great (which is why I requested a speech therapist at our first visit), so he is unable to fully communicate. He was getting frustrated while at the visit, in which she kept very rudely telling him to "use his words," throughout the exam. He is unable to do so, but she consisted. His cup also dripped water, in which I cleaned up, due to it upsetting him while he was being examined. She then told me that I need to make him do this, because he needs to learn independence. Again, these are all thing that we are working on at home, but he again is 2yo. I left the office, feeling as if she was extremely rude and demeaning yet again. I also never got an answer as to why I took my son in, besides to pretend it wasn't there for now, especially since he wasn't complaining about it- again, he is unable to communicate. She is very rude to parents and the children, unhelpful, demeaning,and has you feeling as if you are a complete failure each time you leave. I could not stress seeing a different doctor than her more.

We Love her!! She takes her time and answers all our questions!

This is a very warm, loving, caring doctor. She is funny, friendly and smart!

She is patient, kind and very thorough at all of our visits. Our very shy and easily upset little girl took right to her years ago and now actually looks forward to her doctor visits.
