Dr. Umakanth Katwa, MD

Umakanth Katwa, MD, is director of the Sleep Center, director of the Sleep Laboratories, and director of the Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia Program in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine, with expertise in sleep-disordered breathing, obstructive sleep apnea, primary ciliary dyskinesia, chronic respiratory conditions, and sleep disorders affecting children and adolescents. Dr. Katwa earned his medical degree from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in India and completed pediatric residency training in both India and New York, followed by fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology at Boston Children’s Hospital and sleep medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
