Dr. Uzma Sharif

I was apprehensive about my son seeing a neurologist. Dr. Uzma Sharif put me at ease the minute she walked through the door. She was warm and kind and was attentive to all of our concerns. We are grateful for her input and professionalism.

After being at Hasbro Children's Hospital for 4 exhausting hours and having other neurologists tell us that they can't find anything wrong with our 12 year old daughter... our angel walked in! Dr. Sharif was our savior! After speaking with us and our daughter she was able to diagnose her with her having a type of non-convulsive seizure. Non-convulsive seizures are a rare condition. We were happy to know that there was a doctor on staff during Memorial day weekend that was knowledgeable enough to identify this condition. Dr. Sharif had only seen a similar case once in her career. Where would our daughter be or what condition would she be in if Dr. Sharif was not there that day. Luckily for our family, we were fortunate enough that Dr. Sharif's experience brought our daughter back to us. I can't explain the out of body experience my daughter was going through but we knew she was not herself. My daughter was under her care for 2 years. She had ALWAYS made my daughter feel at ease and… never made her feel uncomfortable. She was very diligent and thoughtful with the questions she asked. Our entire family was extremely sadden the day we heard that Dr. Sharif had left Hasbro and the local area. We would follow her, but unfortunately she is now practicing in another state not close enough to us to travel to. Wherever she is...anyone should feel fortunate enough to have her as a doctor. Extremely professional and knowledgeable and focused on the patient first! She will be greatly missed. I truly believe if it wasn't for Dr. Sharif being at the hospital that day...I don't know how long it would have taken someone to diagnose my daughters condition or if at all. If we are ever in her area, I know that we would love to stop by and say "hello" and to show her how wonderful our daughter has turned out. If Dr. Sharif ever gets to read this: Thank you so very much for everything and Cassidy misses you so very much and will always love you!

Dr Sharif was very thorough and spent the time needed to get a clear picture of what was going on with our son. She has was friendly, easy to talk to, promptly returned our calls and her followup with our other doctors was quick. We are so happy to have her on our son's team. Thank you Dr Sharif!

Dr. Sharif has been the neurologist for both my daughters for the past 4 years. We all love her. Sometimes I feel parents find it hard to listen to a diagnosis they are not willing to hear - they only want to hear what they want to. Sad to see such a wonderful doctor not being appreciated by the previous reviewers. Their loss.
