Dr. Ascencio is a native of Southern California. He received his undergraduate premedical education at UCLA and graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine in 1975. He is on the Board of Directors of the UCLA Medical Alumni Association and is currently serving as the Vice President of the association. Dr. Ascencio is fully trained and board certified in general surgery, as well as plastic surgery but limits his practice to plastic and reconstructive surgery. His areas of special interest include all aspects of cosmetic surgery of the face and body as well as skin cancer excision and reconstruction. He also specializes in breast reconstruction after mastectomy and has been a member of the Breast Care Center at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center (SMMC) for over 10 years. , Dr. Ascencio has served as the Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at SMMC for the last eight years and has been a member of the SMMC Medical Executive Committee for the last six years. Beginning in 2001, Dr. …Ascencio was elected Vice Chief of the Medical Staff and is Chairman of the Quality Council and the Intensive Assessment Committees. Dr. Ascencio's practice is based on exceptional patient education, the latest surgical techniques and the attention to detail that will help ensure the best possible results for his patients. 2002 marks Dr. Ascencio's 17th year in practice and he has recently moved into a new, state-of-the-art office with a fully equipped and certified operating room.

I saw Dr. Ascencio about 20 years ago. I would love to get in touch with him with a question. Is he retired? Does he read these? I had a great experience with him, however his nurse, and wife, did breach the doctor confidentiality agreement. I was upset about that but this is not why I am writing. I need to speak to him as soon as possible. Thank you.

Absolutely a Wonderful Doctor. Loved Nurse Nancy also. My sister was under his care for a breast mastectomy due to cancer in 2007 and I went with her for her consultations. In the visiting process for her he informed me he could help me with breast reduction. I had only dreamed of such treatment for myself since the 6th grade. There was no way I could have ever afforded such a luxury but the next morning at 6 A.M. his nurse, Nancy, called to tell me Dr. Ascencio REALLY wanted to help me. I simply couldn't believe it. In a matter of 2-3 days I ended up with all preliminary testing and blood work necessary to go under the knife. Dr. Ascencio was super kind and Nurse Nancy was the sweetest person toward both my sister and me. Their aftercare follow up was exceptional. And in case anyone thinks that $$$ was the reason they were exceptional? Lol......if you only knew. I highly recommend this exceptional team to you. It has been 10 years and his work is still valued by me.

I came in to have Breast Augmentation by Mr. Ascencio in 1998. Mr. Ascencio recomeded to redue Augmentation after 10yrs +. I returned for another consultation and was directed to go to anther plastic surgon by his wife Nancy. Very RUDE Persona !!! There pricing and promises are frivolous !! Very Unprofessional & terrible business ethics !!

extremely pleasant, and professional staff. quickly returns calls of concern to patient, follows up readily, reassures and directs you to necessary information, still awaiting outcome(results), but seen his work for my problem and impressed, asked multiple peers( am new staff member) all referred to this doctor

Dr. Ascencio is the best Doctor I have been to. He performed a reconstruction of my breast after the cancer was removed. He did the best job ever making me look so natural. He cares deeply about his patients.

I have seen Dr. Ascencio for multiple procedures. First a breast augmentation with saline, and then a few years later silicone. I also had a nose job to correct the bump in my bridge. Dr. Ascencio made me feel so safe and secure. He also was very patient with my 1000's of questions, he is the only one I would recommend. Not to mention I absolutely love Nurse Nancy!!!! She always had the biggest smile on her face and no matter how I felt, nancy was always there to comfort and educate me, night or day after the procedure was completed. OVERALL... FANTASTIC!!
