Receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer is difficult. Being a patient of Dr. Valerie Staradub is not. Dr. Staradub was kind, patient, informative, clear in providing details, forthright is giving options for treatment, and overall extremely compassionate. I left her office with a very optimistic view of my upcoming surgery and subsequent treatment. I would highly recommend Dr. Staradub.

I liked Dr Staradub very much: she listened to my concerns, explained my diagnosis carefully and outlined her plan of treatment . She always gave me time to ask questions and reminded me to call her with any questions. I never felt rushed. I found her staff very empathetic when I presented them with sn unusual request.

Runs her practice with little compassion. Handles it more like a business. Would not recommend.

My 3 hour mastectomy ended up being 7 1/2 hours, thanks to Dr. Staradub. I had so much scar tissue that I had to do physical therapy for the next year! I also immediately developed capsular contracture and lymphodema. Six years after surgery I had a local recurrence, from residual cancer cells left behind from my mastectomy. I am reminded of her horrible work she did on me every day.

She was my surgeon 7 years ago when she practiced in Chicago. I would refer anyone in the world to her. She is a kind, extremely competent and wonderfully caring person. She got me through some pretty rough times and I was so sorry to see her move back to MA but glad I did not need her professional help again. If I did, I would travel from my home in Chicago for an appt with her in Boston!
