Dr. Vardhini Desikan, MD

My son has been seeing Dr. Desikan for at least 15 yrs if not more for his hypothyroidism. I highly recommend her as an extremely excellent endocrinologist.

DR. Desikin is a great doctor! I’ve never had an issue with her. she is one of the best doctors my children have ever seen. BUT … , things with the GH medication are always a problem do to the UNPROFESSIONAL staff constantly making mistakes. her office staff is rude, condescending and unprofessional. The clerical and administrative staff has an attitude and seem to not care about the children’s medical needs. Especially the office manager @ the sleep hollow location who called me “condescending” because my son only has 2 days of GH INJECTIONS left and their receptionist sent the insurance authorization to the WRONG pharmacy and now after me calling 3 days straight is trying to actually contact the correct ppl. the correct pharmacy has stopped all refills unless sleepy hollow location calls them with an authorization number. I’ve been so stressed and not 1 person @ sleep hollow has apologized after 3 days of continuously calling to try and get the authorization that they have to send… to the right specialized pharmacy. Medication is about to Run out for my son and instead of trying to help & fix the problems and assure the parents that they will do everything and apologize so we can try and get the medication on time ( everything is being recorded on their lines by the way) they start to give you 3 or 4 different stories about how nothing is their fault. they send medications to the wrong pharmacy, never pick up the phone, say things like “ all u can do is wait because the person that can fix this works from home) i’m sorry but the front Desk is an absolute mess!!!! again, the doctor is very kind and professional but the receptionists, office manager and etc need to be talked to. Parents should NOT have to go through this much anxiety to get a simple authorization start & end date sent to the correct pharmacy.

Dr. Desikan did not listen to our concern. She was rude and condescending.

Terrible horrible practice. Called a month in advance to make an appt for my son. Office called to confirm an appt for wrong date and time; called back they didn’t even know who my son was. Was told by Ronnie my son would be added to the schedule for the original date I was given. Called back to confirm after being told staff would call me to ask me questions, which they never did. So when I called back a week later to touch base Ronnie and staff were very rude and refused to see my son as told. HORRIBLE! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves especially dealing with kids!
