Dr. Vaun William Dejong, DO

Did not take my concerns about postpartum experiences seriously; and was condescending, instead of informative, about our choice of birth control. The postpartum standard of care at his facility is subpar, and I cannot in good conscious recommend him or the facility to others.

Dr. DeJong is the BEST ! I would recommend him to all my friends/family.

I switched facilities midway through my last pregnancy. Dr. Dejong took me on as a new patient, always answered every question thoroughly, and made sure I understood everything before I left my appointments. I had some minor complications with my pregnancy, he made sure I understood them and felt knowledgably about my condition. I was also clear about my concerns of wanting him to be available for delivery, and he went above and beyond. He was the triage doctor on call the night I went into labor, he checked on me multiple times, and was officially able to (and ready I'm sure) to go home hours before my son was born, and he stayed-as promised- to be there during my delivery. He walked me through delivery, and directed me through the process easily. I delivered my son in 7 minutes total, without medication, tearing, or any complications. He is very experienced in his field, and it shows in everything he does. I recommend him highly to anyone looking for an OB.

Back in 2001-2002 I was pregnant with twins...he had me on blood pressure medicine due to high blood pressure...a week before may 16th 2002 something didn't feel right with my pregnancy..my belly was really bloated and not that much movement. I was almost 8 months pregnant. I tried to call his office and they told I had an appt. In a week and that I was probably constipated. So at my doc appt I went to. They started to do and ultrasound and only got 1 heart beat I wasn't stupid I knew that but to have the nerve to not even tell me as being my doctor was very unprofessional. One twin still had a heart rate of 142. So instead of trying to deliver he sends me driving by myself to Evansville hospital with a blood pressure that was 159/109. Let's just say by the time I drove to Evansville the other twin had passed away. So then I had to drive all the way back to Washington to deliver. I really hope this man is not practicing anymore at all.

I experienced my second miscarriage and had been seeing another provider, but when it came time to schedule my D&C I was asked if I had a preference for who would do it. I told them that I just wanted to get in ASAP to get it done and over with. Therefore, I ended up in Dr. De Jong's hands. I could not have been happier with his bedside manner, genuine sympathy, and the time he took to explain everything and answer all of my questions pre-procedure, day of procedure, and post procedure. I will now continue to see him as my main physician.

Dr. DeJong delivered both of my daughters via C-section during the time he practiced in Washington, IN. From my first appointment, he always made sure I was comfortable & my questions were answered in a helpful, understandable way. Both my husband & I thought Dr. DeJong had a wonderful bedside manner; he was professional, yet compassionate & caring. I always felt that the well-being of our babies & myself were top priority. It was a sad day when he closed his practice in Washington. I wish I could find another ob/gyn like him!

I had him as my obgyn back in 1997-til he left Washington. He was always caring and answered all of my questions. He was never rude and had an explanation for things so that I could understand. I wish he was still here. Not sure what happened with the other persons writing this review but in Indiana He was an Awesome Dr.!

He was a wonderful Dr. Was very disappointed when I went to make an appt and found out he left for Iowa. Thinking I'm gonna have to move to Iowa too n ...
