Dr. Veena Raizada, MD

I was referred to Ms. Raizada by another clinic as the clinic I was referred from does not specialize in Cardiology. I showed up early for the appointment, waited for over thirty minutes, got to meet Dr. Raizada and was outright asked "What are you doing here?" "What are you here for?" I went through the motions of trying to explain why I was there and that I had a referral and the doctor told me that I needed to go back to where I was referred or to another hospital called New Heart Hospital. She told me that she was the "only Cardiologist" there and implied that if I asked for another doctor - I would end up with her again which prompted me to ask if she wanted me as a patient after all. I felt like I was refused service at UNM Hospital - with this particular Cardiologist! I went back outside, explained the situation to the receptionists and they made another appointment with ANOTHER Cardiologist. Was I refused service? If so, on what grounds? I didn't understand why I was… refused service when I had a referral, a Doctor's Appointment for a specific time that had been set up a few months before and, simply because the doctor did not want to see me? If I could, I would give this particular doctor a -4 points in each category. It was a waste of time, gas, money and emotions on my part and that coming from a Heart patient is not a good thing for my cardiological needs.
