When I first started seeing Dr. Mesquida she was very attentive and would provide follow-up care but that isn't the case any longer. In the beginning things were okay because I didn't have any complications but that changed too. She knows 'textbook' cases but cannot help you if you don't fit the most obvious symptoms of a disease. I did a good deal of research and asked her questions, and she seemed not to know anything about more recent information regarding treatment or testing.

She just gives you drugs without explanation and tells you to research the medication and your illness online. Her staff will print something off the internet and give it to you but that is the extent of the help she offers. She gets defensive when you ask questions.

I have severe rheumatoid, and Dr. Mezquida has given me hope and has been an OUTSTANDING doctor. She embodies the type of care that every human being should have. She is knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, and takes a very personal interest in her patients. When I started going to Dr. Mezquida, I was almost bed-ridden from my RA (and I was under the care of a different rheumatologist). Now, I have been back on my feet and living my life again. Thank God and thanks to Dr. Mezquida! This woman is so dedicated that she even calls me HERSELF to update me with lab results when she gets them. I have the utmost respect for this woman.
