Dr explained everything to me what was going to be done when I have my surgery. I would recommend him to anyone having cancer surgery. Even drew pictures for me so I would understand. Staff was great. Office was full of patients and I was seen right on my appointment time

If you're having surgery, you want someone who is confident and knows what they're doing. This man has over 20 years of experience, and is a graduate of Baylor School of Medicine. He is one of, if not the best in Corpus Christi (maybe all of TX or even USA).

This doctor is an experienced and qualified surgeon but if he decides he does not like you, go somewhere else! He did not like me because I had cancer and went to houston to a cancer specialist after being referred to him. I needed a followup operation for a herina and he decided evidently to get even. I spent months trying to set an appointment for the operation after being referred to and seeing him. "I will call you back in 20 minutes was the typical response". I was NEVER called back. I finally went to another surgeon for the surgery as it got to the point where I was going to loose a portion of my intestines and had the operation. His office called immediately after the surgery (the surgery was done where he operates) and asked if I was ready for an appointment. My advice is just be sure he likes you before you are wheeled into the operating room.

very good at explaining what surgery he is going to perform and reassuring his patients. He is networked very well with other doctors in order to provide the care needed for your personal situation. I have had a lot of friends recommend him also.

Dr. Ortiz did my mastectomy a few weeks ago at South Texas Surgical Hospital. i have to say that this doctor has such a genuine and caring nature to him. I have never in my 59 years ever met a nicer and more professional man. He not only is completely thorough in his work but knows how to be your friend too. A wonderful balance. I even look forward to my Doctors appointments with him and that is a first for me. I highly recommend Dr. Ortiz for your treatments.
