Dr. Victor Mok, MD

Dr. Mok is very wise when choosing what info he’ll share because he doesn’t want to cause any unnecessary worries that you may already have while pregnant. He’s very competent. Great doctor.

Dr. Mok was the doctor standing in for my OBGYN when I went into labor. He was not in her practice -- I happened to be delivering in the window of time he was the only (random) doctor on call. He came in clearly exasperated and spent the nearly three hours of my pushing telling me to push, then looking down and shaking his head. He walked away from my doula as she was talking to him. My daughter was turning her head away from the cavity. He said to me "You can either continue to push and best case scenario I use forceps or a vacuum to get her out though, worst case, that could also lead to an emergency c-section, or you can opt to have a c-section now." I chose the c-section. While my scar is fine and my baby is healthy (the latter of which is by far the most important), I sincerely believe that had I had a more caring, attentive, kind doctor I would not have had to have a c-section. His lack of patience, refusal to do what my doula was suggesting, and general attitude made for a very… bad experience. This was my first pregnancy so I went along with what the doctor told me; I honestly wish I had advocated more for myself and tried to wait the few extra hours until my actual OB was on her shift. Terrible. Terrible experience.

My first child was delivered by his father Edward Mok. That was a supreme experience. He was nice, funny, caring and professional. We didn't dream how different it would be when he retired. Our next few kids were delivered by Victor. The experience was a direct opposite of what we were expecting. He is extremely money hungry and charged us money on top of our insurance. For no specific reason. I wonder if it is legal. His bedside manner sucks. He flies through the appointment, not getting his time of day.

I went Victor Ma last year he performed a procedure on me. My pregnancy wasnt viable. I have been trying for past year after his DC on me. I wasnt successful went to fertility doctor did the dye contrast was told my tubes are clogged. I regret going to Dr. Mok very much. Hes not very competent. Me and my partner did Std testing we dont have anything. I did notice pain during menstruation after Dr Mok procedure which I never had. Be aware and avoid him.

Dr Victor Mok delivered both of my sons. My experience has been great with both deliveries. He is very professional and caring. He cared for both of my pregnancy very well from prenatal checkups to the actual births. He also circumcised both of my boys.

Not a pleasant experience!!!! He rushes through the appointment, don't answer questions or if he does it's really basic stuff, no details. Asked for more info about what procedure would be better in my case, he advised I research it online!!!! He don't know/care remembering your name at all. Many times I've been there never did he call me by my first name or cared asking about my day. No manners. Very snotty. Thinks he's above all. At one point he complained to me about his other patients being too curious and asking for lots of questions. That made me very uncomfortable. His stuff is ok. The only person that is nice there is the front desk girl. They gave a guy there -Phil- who pushes some vitamins to you every time you there. Exam rooms (2) are tiny and filthy. The only positive thing I can say about him - he got good hands. Could have been a great surgeon ( he's good hwa nit comes to C-sections). That is all. He made a bad choice following his dad's footsteps. His dad… Edward was a great OBGYN. Great guy, great doctor, great person. Victor Mok - not that much. Don't get fooled by his liason with NYPRESBYTERIAN Hospital - you will regret having him as your doctor!

The worst doctor that I've never seen before. He is not caring all the women at all. No respectful.

It still amazes me how far the apple has fallen from the tree. How Mok & Mok are evidently on opposite spectrums. Retired Edward Mok, or Daddy Mok as faculties from New York Presbyterian now calls him, is well known and well respected. His methods were traditional, but effective. His care and concern resonates from the moment you arrive for your first appointment. He was dedicated and harnesses a great sense of humor that is missed throughout the NYPH community. Daddy Mok delivered my first child as well as several of my nieces and nephews. He was an OBGYN when his services were required, but also a friend who optimizes what is best for mother and child. I miss everything about Dr. Edward Mok because everything about him is missing from his successor, Victor Mok. Faculties who were there long enough to call Edward Mok a colleague simply loved and adore him, and misses his presence. However, there was an uncomfortable silence when the conversation shifted towards his son. Donâ??t… take my word for it; ask around yourself if you ever get the chance. I rarely judge based on what I hear, and often rely on what I see, feel and experience. If youâ??re reading this now, I advised you to steer clear of this path. Daddy Mok is a staple of we expect from top notch physicians. Victor Mok represents everything thatâ??s wrong with the medical community as we know it. Heâ??s like a salesperson working on commission, the more he stands to gain financially, the better the service. If youâ??re just there to window shop, expect his response to go from concise to dichotomous. We now live in a world where information is available at your fingertips. Patients can be as informed as they would like to be. That being said, we are well aware of the pros and cons for inducing and C-Sections. We would only consider it after all options have been exhausted. Anything other than nature was likely detrimental to your childâ??s health in the long run. Of course our decision didnâ??t stop Victor Mok from suggesting it on many occasions, even before my wife reached 36 weeks. In the end, our child was delivered naturally and healthy despite Victor Mokâ??s persuasion. Sometimes you canâ??t help but sense that heâ??s covertly suggesting certain things to his convenience. After birth, we never saw him again, not even when my wife was being discharged from the hospital. Nurses were shocked! It was literally unheard of! My wife was also in excruciating pain and needed to be examined. We also wanted our son to be circumcised, but was informed that our insurance doesnâ??t cover Victor to perform it. At this point Iâ??m puzzled. The hospital informed us that they can perform the circumcision but needed authorization from our doctor since he was a physician of the hospital. For reasons he did not specify, he refused to authorize. You canâ??t help but think that heâ??s purposely making our lives miserable at this point. I wouldn't even give this so-called OBGYN 1 star, but I'm forced to in order to post.

If you are pregnant and you choose him, you need pray every minute. you are like a pregnant pig in his eyes.

As others have said, he doesn't understand the needs of mothers. One wonder why he is an OB/GYN doc in the first place.
