Dr. Vijayalakshmi Achanti, MD

I was a patient of this doctor myself when i was younger, and when I had my daughter, I started taking her there as well. We went there for almost two years, until I got pregnant with my second daughter and realized that I couldnt take going there anymore!!! she would always be in a rush, her nurse (Beth) was always super sweet! But Dr. Ashanti herself was a bit too much, she would ask personal questions that had nothing to do with my child, she would never prescribe me the medicine that my daughter needed, instead she old me to go buy the over the counter stuff. Waiting room waits were fairly quick. But i didnt like the doctor anymore, and when i finally found another doctor, and asked for my daughters medical records, they gave me and attitude before they finally released them!!! Also she misdiagnosed my brother, who ended up having rhuematic fever, which resulted from having strep. which she never noticed!

Anytime I came to the office, the experience was always unpleasant. And specifically, my child was sick, however, she recommended I give him motrin, however, she wouldn't write me a Rx for it. That day, I didn't have money to go get any and I explained that to her, and she told me that I would have to find a way to get it, rather than her give me at Rx for it, where it is covered under my insurance. She was rude to me and unprofesstional and it seems that way every time I have to go there. It's time for a new pediatrican. I do NOT recommend trusting her with anyone's child's life. She's not trustworthy, thorough with exam and conditions and she does not listen to questions or explain anything.

She is fantastic. She is always so sweet to my daughter, and has never gotten a diagnosis wrong. She is very professional, as is her nurse (Beth, also awesome.) Whenever my daughter is sick she makes time for her to be seen as soon as I can get her in. We've never waited in the waiting room more than five minutes. I never feel as if we are being rushed. Last time we had an emergency we got squeezed in and she still took the time to explain everything to me so I would know exactly what was going on with my daughter. We were in her office 45 minutes and at least 40 of those minutes were spent WITH the doctor. She always makes sure that all my questions are answered and i am in full understanding of what is happening. I would definitely recommend her to anyone with children.
