Dr. Vijayalakshmi L. Yalamanchi, MD

Dr. Vijay will find your diagnosis and and recommend the correct specialist if needed. She is a hands on physician which is hard to find. She is thorough and will stay in touch with other specialists if they are necessary .Any negative comments are hard to understand and in my opinion incorrect.

I went here when I found out I was pregnant and asked what I should do while I wait for my first ob/gyn appointment. She recommended insufficient labwork that had to be redone (and paid for) with my new doctor. I specifically asked if this would happen BEFORE she did it. I tried calling to talk about it, no answer. So I sent a letter asking her to call me back. Instead, she had her rude nurse call me a month later, who interrupted me *every single time* I tried to speak. She told me "we've been going back and forth for 30 minutes, I need to end the conversation." I looked at my phone, it had been 8 minutes and 50 seconds. It could have been a shorter conversation if I were able to finish a thought ;) She snidely explained unrelated information to me and told me "$50 wasn't very much money so she didn't really see the problem". More interrupting. I told her she was being very rude and she replied "I've been working here for 11 years, people LOVE me". I told her that's great, but she's… been rude this entire time and I have yet to be able to finish a sentence. She interrupted me, I said "you just did it again", and she hung up on me.

The Dr. seemed nice enough, her assistant was not very friendly. That is not why I'm writing a bad review. I am writing a bad review because when I was in here office she directed me to get blood work done before she would refill my thyroid prescription. Fine. This does need to be done once a year and I was due. She did NOT tell me she would not refill my anti-depressant. I have been diagnosed by 2 psychiatrists of being clinically depressed. I have been on the same medication and have been feeling GREAT for over 15 years. This Dr. is the first Dr. I have ever been to that number one, would not give me the prescription, and number two, asked for blood work for it! Ridiculous. And her rude little assistant argued with me about needing blood work for an antidepressant. Unreal. I am not going back for that specifically. It's not like I'm trying to get a prescription for some fun drug that people take and over dose on. So I have found a better Dr., with a much nicer office, and… much nicer and more professional staff.
