Dr. Virenda Dareles Wood, MD

Since my son was a baby, we have lived in four different states. From all those different pediatric groups, we have our share of pediatricians to compare to Dr. Virenda Wood. Dr. Wood never seems rushed with us and is willing to answer every question I have without me feeling her urgency to move on to the next patient. She is very personable with my son and wants to include him by hearing his perspective on certain issues. I initially chose Dr. Wood because she was raised in my home state and her credentials, but she has become by far our favorite pediatrician ever. We feel very lucky to have found her being new to Rockwall. Our family loves the nurse who assist Dr. Wood too!

Dr Wood is great with my son. We came in for an emergency visit after going 3 times to another facility with a different doctor where we got horrible service. Dr wood saw our son and took great care of him! we are so thankful for her help and getting our son better. she is now my sons doctor and we have referred 2 other babies to her! we love her! the office staff is nice and it's great to see majority of the same staff at every visit...i dont feel like a stranger when i go there. the one thing i have noticed and really appreciate at this office compared to the previous doctors office we took my son to was how clean the office is! the waiting room is very clean and not crowded with dirty toys and you never have to wait long which is great! noone wants to sit in a waiting room with other sick kids so i really enjoy that they get you in quickly and dont have toys for sick kids to spread germs on!

Dr.Wood is an excellent Dr. She is very caring & playful with my son. I had 2 after hour emergencies and she called me back with in 30 minutes. She does great at not perscribing my son with medicine unless needed, yet is on the ball if he does. The only bad thing is the office staff make it a little difficult to set same day appointments because Wood is always booked. Fortunatley I have learned how to approach office staff and pretty much get my way busy or not!

I think that Dr. Wood is a very good pediatrician and i would recomend her to many other family and friends.

I like Dr. Wood's bedside manner, but she seems to have too many patients to see, so sometimes our visits seem rushed. When calling about urgent issues after hours, there was sometimes several hours before she called back. Not so good when you have a newborn...but for the most part she is a great doctor.
