My mother in law was a patient of Dr Iyers for over 20 years. After a third stroke, she requires skilled nursing care. A letter from her physician was required to keep her in the nursing home she is in. After several calls to Dr Iyer.....he was not returning our calls. Days later his receptionist called. She said he refused to write the letter stating her medical condition and that she required assistance to live in her home previously. He couldn’t even give us the courtesy of a call back. We called again and insisted on speaking with him. He stated he refuses to write the letter, claimed is was “malpractice” and this was “not his problem”. She has been in a wheelchair for the last ten years and unable to live on her own. She has been in his care and how can he not attest to her medical condition and needs. We now must find a way to care for her, as she will not be able to stay there. I found him to be uncompassionate, empathic and downright cruel.

Dr. Iyer always seems annoyed when he treats me and bothered by any questions I ask him. He also does not seem knowledgable; he kept leaving the room to look things up on the Internet.

Very knowledgeable, good listener, he does not talk down to me as some doctors do.
